Rent one from Auto Zone or OReilly's. You are going to have quite a tough time without one.

Usually you leave a deposit and get your money back in full when you bring back to the loaner tool.

Tough time? I don't think so!

I've done it this way 4 times now. It's pretty easy, and I would say safer than using a spring compressor (IMO), as long as you follow the directions precisely.

Don't use a spring compressor. If you go that route just have a shop use their machine to do it. Not worth risking injury over some damn springs. Follow the write ups on how to do it without a spring compressor. Follow the directions to the letter. After the first one, you will be like "oh that's it?" Super easy.

X3 for no compressor. Did it twice on my 4th gen without any issues. Just be safe and use jack stands and you shouldn't have any problems.

I think 1.75 is too much for the front with no rear lift. It will probably show a reverse rake with some weight in the cargo area, depending on how you use your 4Runner.

Opinions vary, of course. lol

I picked up spring compressors at autozone for under 30$. Why not use them?

If it looks like this, your safety is not worth saving a few bucks:
