5100 Questions (I know, some idiot making another 5100 thread)

Has anyone ever run the wheelers T1 spring in the 0.85" setting?

I'm trying to mitigate the signature rake with my 2008 Limited 4x4 and have a line on some 2007 FJ coils (4x4, 29k miles on them).



Simply put, will coils from that year combined with 5100s all around level out the vehicle? Is that combination robust enough to eventually support an ARB bumper up front? What's a good price for 4 FJ coils?

If you plan to add an ARB bumper, you’ll get a better ride with taller coils (like the 886 as mentioned) and the billies set to zero or 0.85. The billies tend to stiffen up the higher you go.

I just installed 5100’s at the 1.75” setting and FJ coils all around on my 4runner this last weekend. I watched the following video for the no compressor method and it worked fine! I bought spring compressors just in case but ended up returning them since I didn’t even open the box

Wheelers off-road is we’re i purchased everything other than the Fj coils, those guys are great there. I’ll snap a picture a little later

You can usually find FJ Springs on Craigslist or the Classifieds (T4R or FJ forums). If you want some Moog FJ Springs, you can get those new on Amazon. You can always get new FJ Springs from the dealership, but if you’re going to drop that much $$& on coils, get a better set (OME, Wheelers T1, Kings, etc).

For the 5100s, you can do Wheelers Off-road, Amazon, lots of places carry them.

I am running 5100s all the way around with FJ Springs (new takeoffs off Craigslist). My front billies are set at 1.75” and I had a 1.5” Daystar spacer in the rear.

Looks good! What are your Bilsteins set at? I’m thinking lowest setting, with both front/rear FJ spring, and daystar 2.5/1.5

It’s at the 1.75 setting and I only used the spacer in the back because the springs give you about an inch lift themselves in the front. Adding too much lift might not be good for the truck and you will have to install different UCA’s for the added height

I'm currently running complete FJ struts and coils with Toytec 1/4 inch spacers on driver and passenger fronts. I just recently ordered some 5100's for all 4 corners through 4 Wheel Parts as they have a local store in my town for $384. There could be better pricing around, but from the few sources I checked, they had the best price. I also ordered some new Moog top hats from Rock Auto for $57.

Hoping to complete the swap sometime next week.
