53' trailer parked on my 4Runner

I didn't think about dealer....I will call them tomorrow...

Trance...Thanks for the offer... I don't care how much it will cost. I just want it to look like new because this is on a driver's side so if there is anything wrong with bodywork after fix, I will see it every time I'll be getting into my car.

For now I need to wait because my agent is trying to contact other insurance to see how will they pay for this....
 
CARRS Honda bodyshop is owned by CARRS Honda on Western near Pratt. Just let me know if you need anything, and I'll take you to my friend. He's the guy who gives estimates, so he can hook you up with quality parts if needed. I think they can order the parts straight from Toyota, and then paint it to match.

I think it's best to visit the Toyota dealer first to see if they can have it done. Good luck!

No way........ It could happen to anyone.... and it didn't matter where he was from....

As for You tip.......... It is easy to say but not so easy to do... I wish there was a parking lot but there isn't :arrow:
 
Ask your insurance agent for a body shop. Most "insurance approved" body shops have to do a good job or the insurance drops them from their approved list. Also if you don't like the outcome keep going back as many times as you have to, to get it to look like new. It should look like new, don't take anything less than that. Check for any dust, paint runs ect, be aggresive if you have to.
 
I feel bad for you. Cripe this just sucks. You are very fortunate to have witnesses at the scene! I hope where ever you end up taking your rig to, produces a FACTORY finish. I flip out when I see paint lines, powdered edges, etc.

Make sure that they remove the glass, etc. The less tap you have the better the finish. So many "proffessional and recommended" shops will have a team that tapes up everything because it is less expensive (and reduces liability) to tape the crap out the surrounding areas...

Well, I went today to a Toyota Certified Collision Center to get an estimate... That trucker's insurance wants me to fax them 2 estimates... Toyota wants $2816 . $515 parts and rest of it its labor and paint...I think they will do good job because guy said they are going to take left rear window out before painting and he explained everything and I didn't even ask him for that..... Now I only hope that trucker's insurance will pay all that money......
 
of course they will......two estimates? who's going to be your second? if you need someone to write you up another estimate....remember I have my friend. ;):

i think they're going to pick the cheapest place.

You should be able to specify which shop you want the work done by, since it was your car that was damaged. They want 2 estimates to make sure you are feeding them an inflated amount. My advice - call your toyota dealer and ask them if they outsource to another body shop and have that shop also give an estimate. Both should be within 5-10 percent of each other. Be sure to specify no body filler since you 4Runner didn't have it to begin with.

I found Toyota Certified Collision Center which is in the same building that Toyota's service, and I got an estimate from them. I told that guy that I have to get one more and he said that he knows many body shops and he will take care of that for me so both estimates are going to be almost the same. He already faxed both estimates to my ins. agent, and he faxed them to that trucker's insurance. Now I'm waiting for green light to put my truck to that collision center. I think this is good idea because I hope that if they charge so much ( and I don't have to pay for it), they will do good job and fix it as new. We'll see.

Damn.. I forgot all about it ! I can use my wife's Corolla but I could asked them for rental too...
