5th gen 2014 Limited clock issue

Today the clock in my '14 limited decided to go on the fritz. Out of the blue. It was working perfectly. Came out of a funeral svc and it was garbled, illegible, random lines blinking. Nothing happened to cause this, it just failed.

Every once in a while you can sorta make out the time, then it goes back to garbled. I'm the original owner, it has 25k and is under 3 years old so I made a service app't at Schaumburg Toyota in IL for warranty work. The service advisor sounded very surprised as he's never heard of such an issue in the 5th gens.

So may questions for my fellow 4Runner owners if you don't mind are:

1) anyone else have similar issues?
2) which fuse controls the clock on the Limited? (I may pop it to see if a reset helps the clock)
3) how hard is it to remove the dash trim piece off that allows access to the clock?

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Probably the LCD screen fritzed out... Should be covered under warranty, I would imagine.

Hmm, in terms of difficulty to remove? I don't think it should be too bad.

If you're under warranty, and screw this up, you've voided warranty repairs on this part. Take it in.

Odd but I have seen this before on other makes. Left my 2004 Saab parked in the driveway one summer and drove my clunker Volvo for work travel. It sat for 3 months in an exceptionally hot Alabama summer (106+). When I finally returned and spent the weekend detailing my Saab I noticed that almost every LCD in the car was garbled and leaking. I don't think they enjoy being baked much but you should not have that issue if it's winter and you live in IL.
