I think you need to provide more info on what you're asking specifically.
Ball joints are a non-issue. They re-designed them on the lower ball joint to be in compression vs tension so even if they do wear out, they don't come apart. Bonus is they are a bolt on lower ball joint mount to the spindle so it makes swapping front axles a super easy trail repair. Extra bonus - the front axles are maybe 5 times as strong as the 3rd gen, so they basically never break. I've only seen maybe 2 or 3 examples ever and never seen one in real life with a lot of hard wheeling miles.
Frame rust is unknown. I've yet to see any examples of frame rust that is structurally dangerous. I think it's mostly fixed, but I can't say for sure in southern/eastern climates. The only frame rust area of common concern is the lower radiator crossmember. Toyota used a foam piece to block air flow around that area and it tends to trap moisture in the lower radiator crossmember that is also very thin metal. I've seen a few of those having rust in that area, although I never had any issues with that myself. I suspect one or more that I've seen were likely crash repair vehicles and aftermarket front radiator support was probably used and improperly coated. But it's worth looking at when buying used.

In my general experience my 5th gen solved every known issue I had in my 3rd gen. I had no repairs in 8 years other than aftermarket suspension rebuilds. Just gas, tires, oil and one brake job. The power, efficiency, nvh all could be better. The reliability is as good as it gets. I don't think there are any known issues that are common other than maybe some leaky Xreas suspensions and occasionally the early TRD Pro Bilstein shocks didn't last very long.
