3" Lift for 2020 ORP

Looking to lift my 2020 ORP 3 inches. I will be using the stock tires for a few more months until I can get the new tires I want. Are there any suggestions/links to lift my ORP 3 inches with stock tires and future planning for larger tires? I know it may look silly with stock tires - but it's only temporary.

Hi guys,

Been saving up for the Bilsteins 6112 & 5160 combo for awhile.
But others said the OME kit are better.
Its a daily driver and doesnt go technical trails just a weekend warrior on light trail and campsites.

Hoping you can guys can help me out decide.

Between the top plate of the strut, and the mounting point of the frame. You remove the front strut assy, attach the spacer on top of the assembled strut, then re-install the complete assy.

A 1"-thick spacer gives a little over 2" lift, because the spacer is about halfway between the pivot and the tire.

Thank you. Good to know. I ended up going with a full King coilover step up because I metal bumpers. The factory shock and spring can't hold the weight.

I forgot to mention I'll have my 2020 TRD PRO OEM FOX front and rear shocks and springs for sale in the near future. Mileage is around 3800. Since I'm getting custom springs put on, I'm looking at a 4-6week build time until I'll be removing the OEM suspension. PM if interested.

No Diff Drop Needed

Old thread, but does anybody know if the 5th gens have issues with the front diff needle bearing like Tacoma’s? I’m looking to possibly sale my Tacoma, but before jumping I was curious if when 5th gens are lifted they have the same dreaded bearing issue as the Tacoma’s do. Thanks!

SLEE Offroad in Golden, Colorado (who specialize in Toyota off-road mods) told me when I inquired about getting my 5th gen T4R lifted that they don't recommend doing a front differential drop for the 4Runner. I'm inclined to believe them, since they could easily charge more for doing them!

what size tires are you able to fit under there? what's your wheel offset?

anyone have suggestions for an alternative to the Eibach kit? I was looking at it, and it's about how much I want to spend atm, but I really don't like the reverse rake some people are getting.

FWIW, i'm in a 2019 TRD ORP with KDSS. all stock except for SCS -38 F5's and BMC. I do a shitload of BLM/NF "overlanding", lots of highway driving to get there, and I spend all winter driving in deep snow to do backcountry skiing. I'm mostly interested in getting more clearance for rocks and snow. I do "real" offroading about once a month in Colorado and Utah, but I'm not rock crawling.

Great post with lots of info. I recently purchased this ‘11 SR5 and am trying to find out exactly what the previous owner had installed. He says he asked the shop to level it when they installed the wheels and tires. Best I can tell that’s 1.25” spacer so is that considered 2.5” lift?? I need to crawl under and take a closer look at the rear but I don’t think it was touched. As it sits right now it measures level but appears to have a reverse rake at times, which I can’t stand. Assuming the rear does not have any spacer what should be added to even it out?

I had a set of 6112s assembled at a local shop and the top hat rubber gasket is not aligned with the bolts on one of them - is that a big deal?

Rough Country Suspension lift

Getting ready to put a 3" lift, new tires and rims on my 18 TRD Forerunner.
The Shop where I am going likes Rough Country. I've heard a few people say the don't like Rough Country Brand. Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't use Rough Country? Thanks for any advice.

I've got a 5th gen ORP without KDSS and am trying to figure out if there is a suspension setup that will give me the best possible on-road comfort / control.

I don't plan on changing the OE tire size for now but do plan on adding a bit of weight: full steel front bumper, full size aluminum roof rack with awning, and some hitch weight. I'd like some lift to improve looks and get me a little higher to avoid some of the rocks my windshield tends to encounter on the highways.

I don't live in part of the country with significantly challenging off-road trails but would like to be somewhat capable.

I'd appreciate any opinions on manufacturers and the maximum lift size you'd consider.

Hey guys, new to the forum and rear coil springs.
I have a 2022 4Runner TRD PRO and I'm currently running the Westcott lift with 33" tires.
It looked great and leveled at install with a Greenlane bumper and winch(100-120 lbs combine weight), however I since added the RigD Ultraswing spare tire carrier, with a 33" spare, and, I'm keeping the stock spare tucked under the truck for added protection, as well as CBI DOM120 Rock sliders a Roam Adventure awning and a high lift jack.
Rotopax 3Gallon is also on order so about 300 lbs of weight mistly at the rear, without any cargo.in the rear.
My truck now sags a lot especially when loading coolers, food, water, fuel, camping gear..
Since the TRD PRO is already 1" higher in stock form, should I go with 2" or 3" Dobinson rear coil springs, and, should I go with regular coils or variable rate?
I use my rig as a daily driver/grocery getter, as well as for wheeling and camping, last trip when loaded, the rear springs sagged so much I couldn't stick my foot between the tire and rear fender to get to the roof rack..

I had Firestone airbags on my previous vehicles and they're prone to airleaks in our cold winters so that's not an option I'd consider.

Ok then, I've got a '16 with XREAS which are coming to end of life and asking for feedback from people who've gone full replacement (not just XREAS users, any will do) about their experience.

I am not looking to lift for extra travel or clearance, I will ride "normal" sized tires, and this is largely a DD. I understand I can use OEM arms up to around 2" or so, but after that will need new UCA/LCA.

My quick thoughts based on past research, but interested in your experiences:

XREAS / nope, not worth the cost to install new or effort to install takeoffs

5100s / leaning away from this because I like the "posh" ride of the XREAS and don't want to get into stiff/body roll rides, but will consider

6112 & 5160 / looks like a good combo with decent miles... good experience for those who are riding these?

King OEM / I'd really like these but will probably have to install myself to save costs... and it's probably overkill

OME / these look fine but all require lifting and new control arms?

OME BP-51 / for this price I can get Kings...

Other suggestions?

*I know Dobinsons has some options, but these look comparable to Bilstein or OME offerings, although I am less familiar.

New guy here, I'm the stuckee for researching upgrades to my wife's 2020 4x2 Nightshade Edition.

For anyone that cares to answer, I'm looking for a mild lift (~3) for the wife's grocery-getter. 99% on-pavement driving, she may jump an occasional curb on occasion to get around traffic, but no serious off-roading. It's purely cosmetic, and I know, this is like getting a V6 mustang, but it is what it is.

Looking for inexpensive but reliable, not necessarily the cheapest around. Are spacers safe/reliable or should I upgrade further?
