Always good to have more info and coverage... but this has been pretty well covered. Most of it here...

That top post touches on all the issues that keep coming up. The easiest wheels to clear large tires are 17x8 4.5BS. They don't give quite the look/stance of a little less Back spacing, but they are pretty much ideal for clearance. And always go for the narrower rim if off-road is your goal... They hold the bead better, but you may get grief from the tire shop if you go out of recommended spec (but never heard of a problem when done within reason)
Lift does not really help clear bigger tires. It does help on the road, but that is a really bad way to think about it.
You covered most of it... but missed a few of the big ones. Alignment is key (mostly caster). Followed by wheel size and back spacing + trimming off what is easily removed..
There is a lot going on in determining clearance. It's a very complex equation with many factors at play... Each factor (besides body location) impacts all the others and changes all the movement ratios.
I've never heard the tire pressure point be made about clearing the body. Maybe, but I sort of doubt it makes any real difference compared to tire design...
