-Daily commuter, mostly highway use
The past two or so months I've been noticing my T4R is getting louder and louder while driving. It's not an irregular sporadic noise, but more of a humming constant rolling resistance type noise. I bought it last April and I don't remember it ever being this loud during the first few months.
-The car was still on the original tires so I switched to larger Michelin LTX MS2s at the advice of this forum. Highly rated tires that have many reviews of being very quiet.
-The sound is the most noticeable between 30-50 mph when the wind noise is low and the rolling noise is loudest. The sound is not associated with engine RPM, shifting to N while cruising at 40mph will be just as loud. It is definitely dependent on vehicle speed as the tone of the "humming" gets higher with higher speeds
-I can feel the high frequency vibrations in the steering wheel and the gas pedal while driving. It is comparable to the noise/slight vibration of driving a manual transmission vehicle in reverse (spur gear sound)
I was really hoping the sound was just my old tires but it's still there. Does anyone have an idea of what I can check?
