5th Gen maintenence schedule?

I don't know why I'm having such a hard time finding where this info is: When to change timing belt, fluids, etc...

And do the 5th Gen's not have an inline fuel filter like my '01 does? I'm approaching 90k on my 2011 SR5 (bought it 5 months ago at 86k) and I'll be looking to do all the usual upkeep stuff before winter.

No timing belt on the 4.0 its a chain engine. As for fluids do all of them at 100k to 120k except the coolant and brake fluid those should be good till later

There's a separate maintenance and warranty guide that lists the service schedules.

There's two manuals, a thin one that is just the basics to get you started, and a thicker one that includes the maintenance stuff.

Edit: Oops, I had that backward, it's the thin one that has the maintenance schedule.

having just purchased one NEW there is a load of booklets that comes wilh all sorts of info on this , but it can be confusing . a lot of vague details on when to change/check stuff on how its driven .. good for one owner you have no idea how it was taken care of so I would change all the drive train fluids and also replace the engine coolant. reason is possible some one put the wrong coolant in the system.

check that the drive shafts have been lubed , also if dry give them a hit of grease.

brake rotors/pads etc should be checked replace if worn to 25%. then excessive rotor rust replace rotors.

140K miles plus this then gets into frame rust, leaks,worn suspension,bushings ,motor /tranny mounts.

on fluids you just repeat the first 100K service schedule.

Thankfully 0 frame rust, have some around the exhaust connectors but that's about it. Having even looked at the mounts yet though.

good to hear not much rust. if you see any put some rust killer on it before winter hits .

I would do the following if it were my T4R:
1) coolant - a little early but keeps the water pump happy (use only Toyota 50/50 coolant) or check the coolant level at minimum
2) Power steering fluid
3) Differentials and transfer case
4) Grease slide yokes and U (spider) joints
5) Brake fluid
6) Transmission fluid drain/fill (3X)
7) Check serpentine belt for cracks but it should be good for 120K
8) Make sure you have at least 5/32" of tread left on your tires for winter driving. Check tire pressure.
9) check you engine and cabin filters
