5th Gen Owner AGAIN.....Still.....

I sold my 4th gen today and bought another 5th gen.

I was considering an FJ and nearly pulled the trigger on one (based on price alone) but in the long run, I know I would be more happy with another 4runner.


None of it was planned, and after I sold my baby, i called on a 5th gen i had been watching...and it was avail, so I bought it.

out 2013 is a SR5 with a 3rd row, the one I just bought is a 2010 TE with NAV and KDSS. So, even though I am starting over on mods, and giving up my V8 (to a really good home IMO) at least my new (2me) 5th gen come with some cool equipment.

Yup, nothing particularity special about it. I wish it had leather seats, but other than that, its all i wanted. I take that back, it came with a steel spare wheel....WTH, I have to buy a TE wheel now before I get a rear bumper.....

The FJ is what led me to the 4runner actually. The FJ would be a ton of fun as a second car, just not the right fit if you're like me and use the rear seats and cargo area a lot.

Gawd no. That is the monroney sticker from the glove box, I paid $26525 out the door. I dint feel like I got ripped off.

I get it, the back door is small, and they are a little harder to see around. I will get an FJ as a toy one day. Or a Mega Cruiser from Japan. Lol. :cheers:

Nice find. How many miles? I am about 3 months out from buying a 10/11 TE w/ KDSS. Is it normal to want to acquire bumpers, rims, racks for a vehicle you don't even own yet?

It even has portal axles. There is an FJ in Saudi that has the the portal axles from a mega cruiser swapped in. It's pretty cool.

I am going to sell a couple this summer, I think the first gen is going to go, and the Lexus RX. The RX is getting too old to be worth any money. We just have it for the AWD in the winter to keep our newer ones out of the salt. Bought it one day because we just moved here and snow was in the forecast. So give me a couple months and we will be even, even if I count my Mtn bikes

I've been shopping around for seat covers and a MOLLE setup. So far haven't seen anything I've liked that's a one piece setup.

The entire back is setup with MOLLE , I will put them up here when they are ready, but it will be nearer summit anyway.

BUT. it is listed as a commercial owner vehicle, with ZERO service records from Toyota.

how do I know if this was a rental? I'm not against rentals in general, but a vehicle that has been driven buy people that do not care for 82k miles.....NO THANKS

What I have done in the past is ask the salesman to contact the original owner and see if you can talk to him directly. I did this recently when I bought my son a used Subaru. Wanted to find out how old the previous driver was.
