5th Gen Owners: how many of you have had to replace Audio System head?

Reading reviews on Edmunds - multiple people saying the "Radio" [Entune] system failed not once but several times.

What's up with this, and is the solution to just go get a 3rd party Double ?

My '18 radio has had no problems. I do have to get a new map data chip whenever they come out.

My 2017 Entune head unit was ok, the major issue I had with it was flakey Bluetooth. I replaced it because I wanted Android Auto functionality and couldn't be happier with my new HU

Never replaced the head unit but all the speakers are OEM audio now.

Do you mean OEM Audio Plus? Toyota | OEM Audio Plus

I have those too. Much improved sound, especially the bass.

Factory 2011 entune with OEM+ speakers

Had my factory 2015 SR5P headunit for about 8years with no issues (non-JBL with nav). About a year and a half ago I swapped in a factory 2020+ headunit. Only issue I notice is the bluetooth connection cuts out after about 30mins.

Which year headunit were you referring to?
