5th Gen Sliding cargo tray Install - Pics/Steps

Good idea with the Dremel! I didn't even think of using my Dremel.. doh!

Been looking to find a tray for a while and got one from [MENTION=67528]DarkHelmet[/MENTION]

Tonight, I used the Dremel on my install - a great amount of control and get the hole opened up just right.

Finished up with a little SuperWhite touchup paint and put down some sound deadening mat.

Just picked up a slide from another board member and got home and installed. Super easy thanks to the OP for the thorough instructions. I did drop the spare tire and tried to drill a hole through the bottom of the nuts. Now that I think about it I don’t even know if dropping the spare was necessary as they are pretty far to the side. Passenger side I got but you can’t get a straight shot at it unless you have an extremely long drill bit so I actually slightly messed up the thread trying to drill it at an angle. Couldn’t get to the driver side well enough from underneath but once the sub assembly was bolted down the rear mounting holes were dead centered to the nuts so I should’ve just drilled from the top using the mounts as a guide. Once a very small hole was drilled I took the Dremel idea and used a dremel bit in my regular Dewalt drill and it worked like a charm. The bolt cross threaded where I messed the thread up but I forced it in and luckily it tightened all the way down. Not coming out but that’s ok haha! The proper thing would’ve been to get a rethreading tool and fix it but nobody got time for that!
