5th Gen Trail Wheels mean no more Spidertrax?

Juuuust want to double-check here to make sure I have this absolutely clear...

If I get 5th Gen trail edition wheels and their better offset/backspacing, I will no longer need my Spidertrax so my 285/70 Duratracs clear my UCA arms?

As much as I like the look of these spacers, I have a bad feeling they're putting more wear on my front end than I'm aware of (e.g. bearings, etc.). It would be nice to just get some cheap TE take-offs since I see them on Craigslist for around $400 sometimes.

I have trail wheels and I needed to run spacers still. 285/75/17- depends on tire and setup.

Spidetrax are hub centric and are not putting any more strain on your hubs then rims with more offset would. your fine.

That said, if your on original wheel bearings, you should change them out anyway.

Dawww crap. Yeah, I have 285/70r17 Duratracs, so an inch smaller than yours I think.

Yes still on original bearings AFAIK. I've read that's kind of a pain for a DIY project. What does that go for in a shop usually?

I would think your combination would fit just fine. Plenty of 5th gen folks running 285’s on the same wheels with no issues. I’m running the TE wheels, no spacers, with 255/80/17’s and have a ton of room from the UCA.

255 is much thinner then the 285's.. that was my last tire. also on trails.. id say your probably going to clear but its close. when I questioned it, Buy the 4 spacers from amazon. buy your wheels and tires. if you need them you will have them, if you dont you can return them.. also people sell them all the time.

You will know after you change 1 front tire.

Yeah, I already have the Spidertrax on my truck, but I'm hoping to be able to ditch them if I get the TE's. Sound like it's not for sure so I'll probably pass.
