Refresh? The Tacoma just got its "midlife" at 7 years, and the Tundra, at 6 years in still hasen't had one. Don't count on one this, or next year.

The Taco had a mild update in 2009 before the 2012 update. From wiki: "A minor facelift came for 2009, including a slightly revised grille on some models, new LED taillamps, and on the X-Runner, TRD Offroad and TRD Sport models includes smoked headlamp trim. Auxiliary audio input now comes standard. The Access/Double Cab trucks have two new ceiling mounted speakers and available backup monitor. Four new exterior colors are also added to the Tacoma." The Tundra got some minor changes (grille, taillights) in 2010. Definitely minor, but they did have slight updates. The biggest update was the new 4.6L V8 for that year.

Is a couple months away (ok several) what do people think will be done, besides switching around some colors?

There will be a choice of 2 S/C V-8s, and 2 T/C diesels, with 6AT or 6MT. Standard features will include; 180* rear wiper, AT tires, HID lights, memory seats, windshield antenna, LED taillights, air horns, insulated hood, and, umm, give me a minute ......

I hear Toyota will make standard equipment the following:

Rear bumper cupholders
Anytime -on fog lights and DRL's
Rear airbags
Interior LED accent lighting all over the place
Rearview camera switches
Always-on 12V outlets
...and even
Super high-flow custom airboxes

I am contacting my Lawyer as I type this...

Auto closing rear latch as deleted from the 4th gen.

What, no rear tire well cargo storage? That does it - I'm buying a jeep.

Common man, you know damn well the only change will be Auto Head lights!

I hear they will begin offering a V8 gas engine as well as a diesel option, but sadly, will no longer offer it in 4wd.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned the new auto-drive feature for the LTD.

Just program the destination into the NAV, hit a button and it will take you there all by itself while you take a nap. If you hit home and you've programmed the Homelink, it will even park it in your garage. Great feature if you've been out drinking.

I was talking to the local Toyota dealer the other day about this very subject and he said the only change for 2013 will be a higher price.

Any new thoughts on whether the mid-cycle refresh will be in '13 or '14?

If they continue the trend of running 6 year model cycles (as with the 4th gen), we should see an update this year. I think it would be very minor stuff, though. The Entune update to the radio in the '12 makes me think that the interior won't change much at all. I think we might see a nip tuck on the headlights, front, and rear bumper, and hopefully some new colors (seriously, some shade of white/black covers 80% of the available colors for the SR5 and they have to be bat**** crazy to think that a white TE won't sell like gangbusters if they give it the '08 FJ TT works).

Rumor has it that 2013 will feature the 4runner Shrockworks edition, complete with Front bumper, sliders, skid plates, new unreleased rear bumper and Gobi rack. Plus a lift of course.

The forums modders will be left with little to do!
