just a quick opinion poll:

Anyone out there ever buy the re-manufactured fuel injectors from E-bay?

I am getting various mis-fire codes and #5 is not tapping at all. I am trying to build a rig to leave in Mexico so currently this 4R is not a daily driver. I have time to play with it and do not have any problem taking off the upper intake to access the fuel injectors.

just looking for all your thoughts, (I know OEM is the best, just not excited about the price).

I'm sure I'll be crucified for this, but I've had just fine luck with a reman from AutoZone. I bought one (because I broke the original) a year and a half ago, and have had no issues. I made sure to move my injectors around so I could install the AutoZone one at the front passenger side spot so I would not have to dismantle the whole instake assembly if it crapped out, but so far, no problems. I made sure to soak it in gasoline first (not sure if necessary, but I'd think it'd 'prime' it a bit first) and installed new o-rings on all the injectors while I was in there.

I'd assume and OEM would last longer, but IMO, a reman injector is a reman injector. The same company probably remans them. Just think, what DO they reman? The injector has a few different parts, sure, but what are the odds that they buy OEM parts to replace the 'broken'? So the original injector might be OEM, but I'd be willing to bet the different components aren't. I wouldn't bet much, but still.

AutoZone is easier to deal with for returns or exchanges, than eBay too.

Don't replace them, just have them professionally cleaned/inspected. Injectors are not one of those kind of parts that wear out. They just could use servicing every once in a while. A professional injector cleaning can cost anywhere from $18-$25 an injector.

If you DO end up replacing one, don't buy anything other than OEM.

I agree with JWaldz - try to get them cleaned.

If you want to swap them I've got OEM ones from a wrecked rig, PM if interested.

I recently had WitchHunter service 5 of 6 injectors. The coil on the sixth had failed. He has a supply of extra OEM injectors that he has rebuilt and offered to sell me one to make a full set - I think it was $30 for the sixth and the other five were $22 each to rebuild. This is the way to go.
