$600 Burning a hole, what to get

First here a pic a what I got

I have hate the chrome with a passion and equally hate the low 01 stance. Several things I want to do is millennium silver front and rear bumpers, PTM grille, depo clear corners, 6112 adjustable fronts, 265/75/16, Baja utility rack with custom from mount for 4 PIAA LP550s.
I already have 99 rear coils and 3 LP550 led driving lights.
Option 1: get the Baja utility rack and start making the light bar for the PIAAs
Option 2: get the Bilstein 6112s. Install along the 99 rears and oem lbj's (already have) and ride around with a small lift on stock tires for awhile.
Option 3: get a new 3 piece rear bumper shell from eBay and have it professional line-x'd in millennium silver.
Option 4: get new front and rear bumpers from eBay (paint myself), the 4th PIAA and harness to complete the set, and clear depo corners.
All the options are between $550-$650.
Option 4 is the best bang for the buck but I'm wary about painting eBay bumpers

140,000 1 owner
I bought it was a work beater to save some money i soon realized it was way to too nice to ignore.
Swapped to all synthetics, new timing belt, waterpump, radiator, PowerStop 231 TBU, undercoated, etc. my wife's 15' Malibu didn't even have this nice of paint new.

Start with #2 and invest in plug/wires as well some other preventative maintenance.

I already have done PM associated with 3rd gens.
Kinda need a win now to make me feel better

One of the best mods I've done to mine is install projectors and h1 hid bulbs. In all honesty I think the factory shock valving is fine and would just add spacers for a lift. But upfront use spacers that go inside the coilovers not on top. Both those mods should put u at 600

One of the best mods I've done to mine is install projectors and h1 hid bulbs. In all honesty I think the factory shock valving is fine and would just add spacers for a lift. But upfront use spacers that go inside the coilovers not on top. Both those mods should put u at 600

I had retros in my last truck and wasn't too impressed

A locker, or save a little more and get a winch.

An oem locker equipped housing swap will come later.

I haven't seen any bumpers on eBay that are for a 4Runner. Maybe a trailgear one for Tacoma which would require modification.

But honestly, if I was you. I'd save a little more and get a really good suspension. Just my personal opinion. When I first got my 4Runner. The first big things I got was: suspensions, front skid plate, rock sliders.

But those aren't like metal bumpers. You do realize that right ? There's probably nothing wrong with the bilsteins. I had the 5100 and I personally wasn't pleased with the ride quality. Ended up going with icon 2.5 CDC. But that's a completely different price tag. The 6112 looks badass and are probably ten times better the. 5100. So you will probably be happy.

Personally I wouldn't waist my money on those bumpers. I'd get the shocks and some armor. Maybe a front skid plate and rock slides. Trail gear sells rock sliders for $180.

But in reality, I cannot say enough how much I like my projector reteofit. It totally changes my night driving and offroad experience. After that, get some FJ Cruiser springs and the new 4Runner specific Billie 2100's with the leftover cash.

This is all assuming that your timing belt and water pump have been changed in the last 70k, that your lbj's are less than 90k on the clock, and your radiator has been updated to either bypass the transmission cooler or is a fresh oem unit with nothing but toyota red llc having ever been run through it.

Last 2,000 miles, fresh synthetic fluids, new air filter, radiator, water pump, timing belt, etc. external trans cooler and oem LBJs on shelf and going on soon

I really like the Maglite mount (from Ellis Precision group buy here:http://www.toyota-4runner.org/group...glite-mounts-ellis-precision-$30-shipped.html) + LED Maglite I added to mine. Relatively inexpensive and very high quality parts, plus you can customize by mixing whatever color mount & Maglite you like (I choose Black mount with silver flashlight). Also also wik... when is it ever a bad idea to have a flashlight handy?

Got a small mount for my nitecore to keep in. I never underestimate the importance of carrying a flashlight and small ABC extinguisher
