6112 Dust Boot Options?

Been researching suspensions options and I'm pretty much decided on 6112/5160's. My plan is to buy KYB top hats so that I can pre-assemble the 6112's before the install. I've noticed when looking at pictures of the 6112's vs the TRD Pro Fronts, the 6112 have no dust covers like TRD Pro and other options have.

Has anyone sourced dust covers to keep dirt/debris away from the strut shaft? I would imagine there are not many options due the the 2.5 shock body.

I think the general consensus is that these boots are generally a bad idea. They seem to do more harm than good. Trapping in moisture, dust and debris. Especially if you expose your truck to off road conditions.

I remember back in the day when mountain bikes used to have dust boots on suspension forks and shocks. The industry eventually moved away from it and found improving seal technology more impactful.

Shaft damage from gravel, etc, only really seems to be a problem for the rear shocks on the 4Runner. I wouldn't worry too much about the coilovers.
Gravel tends to get flung at the exposed rear shafts, but it doesn't really fly around the front wheel well.

But to answer your question, I use the procomp boots from 4wheel parts. They're less than $10/pair. They fit 2.5" shocks, and they can be cut to length as required

It’s not a problem. They stretch.

My kings are 2 5/8. (2.625)
