So I just bought what it said in the title ,now is it considered a 5th or 6th Gen. I am returning use to have a 04 and loved it so trying to get a bit more active in the scene

2010-2023 are all 5th gen. Toyota is really stringing this generation along. We should hopefully see a 6th gen within the next 2 model years.

In 2024 I have heard that the Tacoma and Camry will be redesigned along with the introduction of the Grand Highlander. There are rumours the Land Cruiser will be sold as a 2024 model year in the US as well.
Would it make sense to introduce a 4Runner in the same year? I would think it would eat into the sales of the Grand Highlander and the 4R Pro might take away some LC300 sales. I know the Tacoma is not an SUV but I think a lot of people decide between the 4R and taco.
I would say 2025 makes more sense as the 4R release date when the Rav4 will most likely get redesigned. By 2025 there should be a Toyota hybrid/EV small truck like the Maverick. I do believe the 4R will be made alongside the Tacoma in Mexico so it might take a little longer to move and set up production in Mx.

I can't see the Tacoma and 4Runner coming out in the same year aside from the other new releases. I'm hoping by April/May 2024 there will be some pics and info on the 6th gen and then I can place a last minute order for the 2024 model or wait for the new and improved version.
One rumour going around is a split back door. Hopefully it's a 25 MY and there is one last surprise for '24 like the 23s got the heated steering wheel.

I'm not sure how a 4Runner PRO would cannibalize LC300 sales. I could see the Sequoia PRO doing that.
Let's keep the rumors to the two rumor threads (or the new ones that seem to be created weekly).
This should just be to inform people that there are no 6th gen 4Runners yet. Only 5th gen.

See a lot people wanting more features in 6th gen 4R but any concerns it wouldn't be as reliable? I heard the 6th gen manufacturing site possibly would be in Mexico.... Turbo 4 and non-Japan site, reliability would be worse than the current Tundra.

Wrong thread to discuss this. There are plenty of other threads here discussing what may be in the 6th gen and your questions have been discussed frequently in said threads.
And since this is the first post at the top of page 3.
Friendly reminder, there are no 6th gen. All 4Runners from 2010 to 2023 are 5th gens.
