6x9's installed?

First off I drive a 08 SR5 w/factory 6 disc HU. I'm putting in my Eclipse CD8445 HU once I get the necessary gear to do it.

So does anyone have any 6x9 speakers installed in their vehicle? If so has anyone made them fit in the front and rear doors?

I'm sure I'm going to have to top mount the ones in the rear doors, so obviously I'm going to have to do some cutting. But I just want to know if anyone has tried!

So would it work or not?

I just finished up my install on my '07 a couple weeks ago. I went with all Infinity Kappa speakers (see sig) in the doors. My installer deconstructed the factory speakers and used the basket as a mounting bracket for the new speakers. No door cutting was needed to get them to fit.

Front doors 6X9 rear doors 6.5 round.

Has anyone actually tried to make the 6x9's fit in the rear doors?

You could just get the plates that convert he 6x9 into a 6 1/2"... The 6 1/2 has better sound reproduction anyway.

I agree that you should just switch to 6.5".

put 6 and 1/2 all around along with some dynamat, and have the proper amp to power it, and ull have alot of midbass to the system, it did for me.

Thats exactly what I did in my Titan and that made it sound amazing. Dynamat and (2 sets) 6 1/2" component JL Audio speakers and it was awesome.

Just don't use Dynamat. There is better stuff out there for the money.
