So I'm new to this whole 4Runner thing, was/am a Jeep guy, and trying something new. Anyway I'm looking for some information/advice on running stock Chevy truck rims (off an 05 Avalanche that I used to own) on my (new to me) 92 4Runner SR5.
I know I need an adapter for the Chevy rims to fit because of needing to clear the hub due to 100mm vs 108mm hub size. I'm thinking a 1 1/2" spacer will get me past the hub "depth", does anyone know if that is right? I don't want to go out any farther than necessary. I haven't taken off a wheel yet to measure, just guessing from everything else I've read online and seen offered by manufacturers.
The stock 4Runner rims, or at least what is on it when I got it, are 15" Steel wheels. It also has manual auto locking hubs. The lug nuts appear to be the capped acorn style, with a tapered base. For Lug centric style rims... like found on most new/modern aluminum rims like the factory 17" 05 Chevy aluminum rim I'm wanting to put on.
So do I need to have Hub centric wheel adapters for this beast to fit the Chevy rims, or will any plain old Lug centric adapter work? Is this year 4Runner Hub or Lug Centric? I want to do this the right way, so I don't have any issues/accidents with it... buy once cry once type of deal.
