cylinder 6 not firing New plug, new wires, new dist. cap, rotor. plug in cylinder had heavy corrosion . where to go now.
94 3.0 cylinder 6 not firing

Has spark but new plug has no indication of firing. looks new slightly wet. could have skipped timing? would that stop plug from firing?

if you have spark then the plug shouldn't be wet, even if the timing was off the fuel would still be getting ignited it would just be at the wrong time.
how did you determine you have spark on all 6 cylinders?

94 3.0 #6cyclinder problem
I have taken out the spark plugs about 10 times. I can take out the plugs passenger side almost with my eyes closed! anyway when I take out #6 it still looks new and when I take off wire there is no change in engine idle, if I take off any other one big difference so I thought or think that is the problem. Tomorrow I will take out again and check plug fire. Could be exhaust valve? who knows!

take the #6 plug wire off and leave the plug in, now take a old plug put it in the wire and GROUND IT WELL dont touch it by hand i put the plug in a wrench then lean the wrench on a grounding point. when you start the engine you will see if the #6 is firing when the engine is running.
if it is then it may be a clogged injector if not then its the distributor remember even if the dizzy is brand new its still assembled on a line and could be bad.

checking #6 injector
looks like I could take off fuel rail(drivers side) and#6 injector without taking off air intake camber. what do you think?

no its hard to do and you may damage the injectors in doing so.
just take the intake off and check it right. gaskets are cheap.

ok will have to wait til weekend, no fishing this week. Love my 4runner better that my GC jeeps, but every thing is hard to get at. Hope it works longer after repair.

wow I hate bsvs
took off intake put back together after fixing bsvs with inserts I learned here. After everything is put together I go to put last hose on bsvs and the tower i put inserts in broke off. Truck still has no power after 35-40 mph am wondering if this simple purge/ fuel return could affect performance that much. Am ordering new bsvs to put on. EGR?, fuel pressure ,?

found 94 like mine and compared hoses, had return hose plugged because I thought that was the canister return to tank. I had the canister return to tank hose connected to the return to tank port on intake manifold.also had the emmission hoses that go to ports on intake reversed but still don't know if the hoses coming from idle up valve are right. they go to the same (split) ports on intake as emmission hoses and I believe from there they have something to do with EGR? or mass air? filtered unfiltered? All this started with a rough idle and gas pouring out of bottom of canister after taking off intake ( to fix bvsv and check injectors) and having both sides of hoses come off after only labeling one side. rookie mistake. Still rough idle and can not believe canister and bvsv could be culprit. will wait til bvsv comes in and I take intake off again to install bvsv,and check injector again.
