Well hello there. From a search I can see that power window problems abound with our trucks... neat-O. Mine, a '94 V6 4WD 5-speed, has never had window issues of any kind until today.
Our 4Runner needs an engine overhaul and has been sitting for about a year, waiting for me to have enough time and enough money at the same time(have young kids, you know how that goes). Today I was running a compression check and leakdown test prior to teardown, and I ran the driver window down out of old shop habit but couldn't get it to close when I went in for dinner.
There is no noise when I operate the switch. I didn't think to watch the voltmeter; will check after getting my son to bed tonight. Other windows work fine from the master switch, door locks work, only the driver front doesn't. I did not hear any unusual noise or see any unusual movement when I lowered the window earlier.
I pulled the switch and nothing appears burnt, corroded or otherwise damaged.
Is this some crappy coincidence? Ugh.
What should I look for? I'll go back outside later tonight and see whether the window goes up with direct power, but I obviously want to fix the problem.
