95 4 runner front end

I have a real bad clanking noise coming from right front end. Sounds like whole side is loose. Already changed the shocks, then noticed cross bar is extremely loose. Not much of a mechanic but I can fix it with a little help.

What cross bar? Are you talking about the sway bar? New bushings should tighten it right up, unless it's bent or something.

Yeah, must be sway bar. Thanks, gonna try and fix it tomorrow.

also check your idler arm. my bushings went out from mad power steering leak. completely ate them away so its metal on metal. check your steering linkages! all the bushings and such.

If you are driving off road a lot, the sway bar bushings can be stressed. I go down a road with a lot of very large pot holes and have had to replace mine.

Spend the money on urethane...you'll love yourself for it.

If it happens while you go over a bump/hole, check the strut bushings.
