okay okay I know everyone is sick of this conversation but I want to pass along a really quick easy and super cheap mod that can be built in minutes (or restored back to stock in minutes).
keep in mind this is a '97.
the front port is 2 3/8 an exact fit for 2" abs, the rear port is an exact fit for 3/4" pvc.
cut 2" of the abs pipe put a cap on the end with a 5/16 barb screwed in, a 5" length of 5/16 hose "T"ed to the existing vacuum lines. done....under 10 bucks.
I don't know about all that mpg/throttle response/horsepower jazz but I just took it out for a spin and really really like the sound! not loud at all and freed up a bunch of space under the hood!
