I appreciate the compliments. I've never been a fan of much chrome on 4Runners. I think it kind of distracts from their understated rugged look.

Decided to take a day off from the truck yesterday since the heat index was about 105°. I did take 5 minutes to go install the bug shield. I've never been a fan of hood deflectors, but in the interest of paint and windshield protection I decided to use one. I found an OE Toyota at Camelback and the fit and finish is spot on, just like their sunroof deflector. Considering I don't care for them, this one is actually pretty nice. The rest day is over. Time to go out and put a truck together.

Thanks! It's not perfect, but it's coming along. I'm just now heading out to the old salt mine to try to get 'er done! Gonna try to get the plastic fender liners and flares back on and maybe get the rear bumper swapped out. It wasn't damaged in the accident, but I was painting the front bumper and the license plate surround, so I decided to order a new rear as well.

Managed to get the new rear bumper installed. It's aftermarket sheet metal so the fit isn't fully on par w/OE parts, but it isn't too bad. Lots of tweaking and adjusting to get it close. The best part about it is the new plastic step on the bumper. It's minty fresh and looks awesome. I wire brushed and cleaned any little rust spots I could find on the hitch and gave it a quick coat of flat black. It looks clean, but not unrealistically new and shiny. I know it's bad juju when you paint a hitch to cut off the zip ties, but I did it anyway. I've got some detail work left on the exterior and then I'm gonna go through the interior and reroute some wiring and do a few things and it should be good to go. Gotta go get an alignment once I'm done too. Once its complete and I can get an accurate total spent, I may go ahead and do an HID retrofit and/or heavy duty front bumper.

I still have to get an alignment and have the windshield replaced (not accident related) and work on the audio tune, but I drove it to work today for the first time since I wrecked it in June 2017. It's definitely not perfect, but I sure do love this truck! Its been a busy, hot six weeks!

did you paint the front bumper or bought like that. been wanting to have mine painted to flow with my fender flares.

Did you get OEM fenders or aftermarket? I have a damaged fender that I want to replace but OEM is so pricey. If aftermarket what brand did you get and where from? How did you like the quality?

I painted the bumpers. The bumpers and license plate surround are all color matched. It's a dark metallic gray. The grill was originally the same, but I saw a pic where someone matched the body color and I decided to do it that way.

The core support, fenders, and hood are all aftermarket and were actually pretty good quality. They came e-coated so they only had to be scuffed to be ready for paint. They all came from the same seller on eBay. The bumpers came from another eBay seller and the fit wasn't as good. Here's a link to the fenders. They're really hard to beat for the price. They came very well packaged and arrived with no damage.
