Is it just me, or is dark markers and grille the tits?

I like this look better than the blacked out ones (in general).

Where's the projectors? Your thread almost has me sold on copying you. Now the grille and markers? ugh..

I do think to "repeat it" you'd have to have black wheels though.. That I do not have.

Yeah, and I'm so used to seeing his truck all dirty, its cool to see it clean. I was never a big fan of the grill mod, but the more I see grills like this, the more I can see one forming on my truck

I did mine a few weeks ago. I'm 6 parts one way, half a dozen the other. I don't have the TOYOTA badge yet which will set it off. Not sure which one I'm going to go with. I did like the stock 98- grill though.

What's next on the list Ad.? I'm interested to see how the bumper turned out. Did you consider a tube bumper at all or was the availability of this damaged one the way you had planned to go all along?

I agree, the tinted turn signals are awesome, love the look. Although my vinyl tint skills suck and they will need to be re-done eventually. I'm still not sold on my black grille to be honest. I kinda liked the OEM chrome secretly. haha Should all tie in better though, once my black headlights are done and installed. They are still a couple weeks away from completion as I have a few other retrofits for customers in the way right now.

Believe it or not, my truck is kept pretty spotless 90% of the time.... except for when I', wheeling of course! haha Thanks!

I considered tube a lot, but always wanted a combo of both. I scrapped the mod'ed ARB and bought a new plate bumper as I didnt want to deal with the hassle of fitting and re-fitting and "fixing" the old ARB. I will be selling it soon for cheap... I went full plate up front but plan on adding some tubing down the road when I can get Nick to fab we some stuff - Light bar mount and some fender protection.

Sadly, I don't like the look of the ARB all that much, hence why I was interested to see what you did with it. Might be willing to take on the job myself though.

The dash lights are holding up well. I ordered a few extra of each at some point and have had to replace a couple.... not very happy about that but I simply hate the stock green dash. The new red/white guages are WAY nicer and I get compliments on them all the time from fellow toyota folk.

UPDATES

After I'm done posting here I am going to post up some pics in my wheeling pics thread from this weekend, so be sure to check those out!

First of all, I have installed my ODL bumper. If you've been following my build at all, I was contemplating a few options but I am very happy with the result. I went with ODL, no hoops, limited width version (more protection) and their satin powdercoat. The finish of the bumper is excellent and I'm very happy with the mounts and construction at this point. I may need to enlarge one of the mounting holes as I have slightly more bumper gap on one side, but I think it's due to the truck, not the bumper as my OEM bumper had the same gap difference. (must have been in a fender bender at some point before I purchased it!)

I plan on adding a very LOW center hoop down the road to accommodate an LED bar and also will be adding some small hoops on the sides of the bumper next to the corner markers to give some added trail protection there (another reason for the "limited width version)

And of course when I did the bumper install, I threw in my TJM Stealth 9000 winch:bluejump: Man, the wireless remote is AWESOME! haha

And another update, that I haven't really mentioned, is my iPad. I have been wanting a new GPS setup for a while as the Garmin I have doesnt quite cut it for trail use. I needed something that could create and upload existing tracks and I wanted a topography option as well. A fellow CT4WD member proposed me with his iPad 1 at the perfect time. It's the first gen iPad, but it is the 64GB version and has 3G ---> the only iPad with the built in GPS chip! I was sold....

I went with a universal RAM mount that bolts to the seat mount. It's pretty sturdy but does wobble back and forth a bit on rough roads. I will be fine-tuning this setup in the future to make it slightly more stable, but it is definitely livable now. I am running the "GPS-kit" software and so far, I am very pleased with it!

Thanks a lot Dark Lord. I DO have an ARB but I decided to scrap the project. Wanted something I didn't have to mess around with and could get finished and installed sooner than later, the ODL fit the bill perfectly!

I guess it depends on our definition of "near the end" and what our true "end" for the vehicle holds in terms of the level of modification. If I were to say ad: long travel, a supercharger, and a f150 gas tank swap, the bumpers would be the "middle" of my build, I guess. (And I really would like to ad those!!! haha) I just feel that I see bumpers (front ones, at least) often added before other items like skids plates, sliders, or even before maintenance on a lot of vehicles taken offroad. At least locally anyway.... Either way, I'm pumped to have them bolted up and protecting my rig on the trail while looking BA on a daily basis! lol

Thanks for the compliments on the grille! I really was trying to keep it OEM looking while still making it suite the tan(or desert dune...)/black/silver theme on my truck, so that makes me pretty stoked that you could see people thinking it's stock! I got the mesh from a metal supply place in Calgary. I think customcargrilles sells similar stuff online as well.

Thanks! I'm very happy with the wheel/tire combo. The wheels won't break the bank and the tires have been incredible offroad. Next year I'm going to have to get a matching spare like BFAD and get a swing-out fabbed up for the CBI...
