I'll have to check your slider out. For $100 that may be the way to go... I'm no pro I just like the Kickstarter campaign for the Rhino Slide and I like the fact you can use suction mount on the legs etc. Seems very well designed. Actually my brother who lent me his GoPro wanted to buy the Rhino slide if I buy a good panning tripod head. It will be nice to split the costs with him and we can simply share our equipment... other than my 6D, he's not touching that! hahah

Where are you keeping your spare tire? The CBI hybrid is by far my favourite bumper on the market but my one complaint is that it renders the stock tire carrier unusable.

Just wanted to pop in to say I've spent the last two hours poring over this thread from start to finish, and its a massive inspiration. I'll suffer when I have to wake up early for work, but it'll have been worth it.

I'm a total noob to the scene, still looking for a black 3rd gen in Calgary without much luck. But one day, one day... Perhaps I can visit sometime to get wisdom (and tech support).

Hahaha that's very true... I think if I did run the suction mounts it would be on my hood or something relatively flat where I could watch the camera gear. I know what you mean though... so sketchy having your gear hold on by suction cups or little plastic clips. haha

Thanks [MENTION=77310]BrandonF[/MENTION]! The hybrid is actually REALLY sweet and that and my headlights are honestly the thing that get's pointed out most from "randoms". I really love the hybrid design and it's a stout bumper.. I've had the whole truck sitting on the corner of it a couple times now and there are no marks on the body from bumper flex. Super pleased.

Regarding the tire... it usually goes inside or on the roof rack for now. You just need to buck up for a swing out - something I plan on doing this spring.

Well I'm glad you found the thread entertaining! Hopefully there is some info or ideas you can steal and apply to your black Runner when one comes along... which it will, just be patient! And yes, I'm in Calgary lots and moving there soon so I am sure we'll get to meet and compare notes. PS - sign up on the CT4WD forum! Tons of Calgarians and tons of WICKED Toyotas!

Made this bracket to catch the belt look on my new ThinkTank 20 holster:

Holster sits just behind the center console and is very secure. My GF is stoked she doesn't have to hold my camera on her lap anymore!

Yah I know! It was something that had bothered me since I started bringing my camera. My SLR is too big to just put anywhere and I certainly dont want it smashing all over inside the cab. This way it's secure and out of the way but still easily accessible!

A couple MINOR updates.

I got some Weathertech floor mats about a month or so ago, dont think I posted any pics (you've all seen them, but here's a shot anyways):

They are AWESOME. I can't believe I waited so long to jump on this bandwagon. I guess I initially though the price was a little steep. Now that I have them, they are worth it in every way. Last time I went snow wheeling I was a bit off-camber and they actually self drained!

Also, I took advantage of Nick's (@bigfishallday) MV-50 thread (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/131953-bfad-s-superflow-mv-50-air-compressor-build.html) and ported mine. Also did the new gauge, new relay, and new wiring. I didn't do a benchmark test as it was SUPER cold out last week. To be honest, the new guage is worse than my old one as far as accuracy goes... maybe I'm just unlucky. Not really an issue though as I normally use a manual gauge anyway (the one that came with my Trail Heads). I did a couple test runs while I was setting up my Trail Head tire deflators the other day (it got really warm out...) and it is DEFINITELY faster. I'm going to be hardwiring the pump in, once I make a couple changes to my sleeping platform this spring.

You say you replaced yours with the Slime gauge like Nick did? That one reads wrong too? Any ideas on one that will actually work and read accurately? lol those $3 slime gauges break all the time though. I have a regular one and a low pressure gauge.

They didnt have a "Slime" guage anywhere in town but the one I bought looked identical in every aspect minus the "slime" logo. My "stock" MV-50 guage has writing on the actual face, not the glass, but it was constantly out by 5 psi. I should have left it alone in retrospect.... the new one is all over the map. Maybe my tap/die skills are pathetic and I really kiboshed the guage install part?!?!? hahah Whatever, I'm over it. The pump pumps faster and ran cooler on my test run, so I'm very happy. I've already got it signed up for a tire inflation race against an ARB compressor. I'm taking bets now. hahah

Haha thanks man.... There are a lot of 4Runner's in Desert Dune but it's nice I've found a way to make mine stand out a little bit.

Sorry we are still in the works for WA. I'm really hoping so but need a few things to ome together in the next month. I'll keep you posted for sure... I was actually just talking about this with my GF last night. I wanna hit up Evans Creek and such so bad!

That backcountry route looks deadly and I am positive that I would enjoy it. Just might not be able to swing that much time away in the States. When were you thinking of running it?
