Awesome shots! Can't wait for snow. Saw about a 1/2" up in the high lakes yesterday lol... boooo.

Winter is coming.... I actually wasn't expecting as much snow in the mountains as we saw. Apparently the ski hill that is 30 mins away from where we were wheeling, got 60" of snow in 24 hours. Epic.

Thanks. It's so true, shooting in the snow is hard, so easy to overexpose and blow highlights. Luckily for me, shooting in RAW and having moderate Lightroom skills lets me clean up my sloppy photo skills! haha

I was down in that area too on Saturday. Doing a border run. I think I might have picked up that FJ roof rack last year actually. haha

Vehicles are looking good! All of them. I'd love me a 80's Pickup 4x4... I wouldn't complain if it was diesel either...

Got some new audio equipment installed in the 4Runner today. I got a super sick deal from my roommate who used to work at Future Shop (and now at Best Buy). I got some Energy 6.5" for the front and Energy 5.25" for the rears. Both sets are full component setups with tweeters and crossovers. I have not heard much about the Energy car audio line-up but I know that their home audio stuff is absolutely superb, so I thought I would give em a shot, plus the deal couldnt be beat.

Fronts:

I cut the factory tweeter grills out and installed the Energy tweets in their place, looks hella clean IMO.

Rears:

Overall I am surprisingly impressed. I did not amp the speakers and may not now, considering how crisp and great these things sound!!

I've got to ask, how did you get the 6.5" woofers in the front door panels? Did you use the factory bracket?

I have a pair of Polk db6501's for my fronts and they're not sitting very nice... in fact, I hate it haha

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If I recall (it was a a long time ago...) I used the factory bracket with another spacer stacked on top of it ot clear the window. Hope that helps

Tinted my corner lights with vinyl. I suck at applying vinyl. When it peels, and it will, I'll get a pro to do it. BUT I think the look is perfect, I love the slight tint... it's gunna match my black headlights nicely!

- Carpets out and ready for shampoo
- interior panels 90% removed - washed with soap and water and hosed down
- full interior wipe down with soap and water
- vacuumed thoroughly


My tentative plans for this summer:
- Sleeping platform
- 35" MT/R Kevlar
- SCS wheels
- Slee Shortbus front bumper
- TJM 12K winch
- Thinking of de-flaring and doing liner along the flare lines - metallic silver (either Monstaliner or LineX)
- LED's
- Projector Retrofit

Does doing all this get rid of any unwanted scents?

When I did mine I got rid of most. Made it smell like a car I've owned for a few years.

Sorry but I have no idea.... it was just like a "smoke tint" vinyl. I wanted them to not be murdered out and opted for something lighter.

I agree. The vehicle smells and just feels way cleaner. Still not perfect until you pull the dash and vents apart IMO but it was a vast improvement.

Awesome looks like i might be doing this to mine because it has that distinct smell that I would not mind trying to get rid of! Yeah they light version looks really well.. I used vht on mine but it dried VERY splotchy so i took it off..

Not really build thread related but I will officially be in Moab on May 7th. Should be there for 5-6 days then headed to DV for ~5 days. Then possibly headed to San Fran, Northern Cali (would like to do Deer Valley), then head back to Canada. I'll be on the road for around 2 weeks. If anyone would like to meet up and do some trails lemme know! I'd love a Moab or DV guide.

Kind of unsure. Was thinking San Fran then heading North on the PCH. However might need a more direct route depending on timing. I'd be down to meet and wheel for a day close to your neck of the woods? Evans Creek is on my short list...

Yea I hear you, I mean a trip like that for me, it is an easy $3500...and that is minimum.. I do know a lot of people on the route that could provide free lodging though
