99 4Runner- Rear lock mechanism/ lock rod end connection

I have a 99 4runner and the rear lock cylinder in rear hatch fell through. I see where the two screws holding the lock cylinder to the plastic license plate housing broke free.

Im going to remove rear plate housing, JB Weld the two plastic tabs and paint the paint frame black while I have it out.

My question: I unplugged the lock cylinder from harness and the lock rod end with tiny green plastic clip came free. I cant figure out where the green plastic clip at end of rod attaches to in order for lock to arm and disarm. Half of the green clip actually broke as well (where to purchase?)

I also have a slight grinding noise when rear window goes up and down. Is there any area that needs to be greased to eliminate the noise?

Below is a picture of where the lock rod came un-attached, but do not know where to put it back.

The little green clip is what holds the rod in the eyelet. It snaps onto the end of the rod at the very end. You can see the shiny part where it goes. That will probably be a dealership or junkyard item.

So the lock cylinder rod connects to the brass slider as shown in pic? Not the white plastic?

Thanks again Jeremy! I see the thin rod starting from yellow lock cylinder, traveling left behind the black steel square section. I can't see where it connects to behind there. Damn!

I too am now in the same boat trying to figure outv where the rod with the green clip connects. My green clip also broke. Does anyone know where I can replace the green clip, and where it connects?

I was re-attaching the lock cylinder today and the tiny green piece broke!!

Do you have the part # for that? What did you do to fix it?
