99+ Front Bumper on a 97?

So around a year ago my 4runner wasnt put in park, the driver exited, and it idled into a BMW. :lookout: Well now the cars mine (was my moms) and id love to fix the front end as it never was replaced. I already need to replace the chrome piece and the valance and i like the look of the 99+ runners. Will the brackets and all the lines work if i got a replacement bumper for a 99+ limited and put it on my 97 limited? Thanks in advance.

Heres the best picture of the damage:

Yeah, you can easily swap.

All it requires is the bumper, an extra bumper reinforcement, two brackets, and that's it.

That bolts to the frame, and then two brackets bolt to that, which hold up the front bumper.

That's it. Usually people who upgrade to aftermarket bumpers have all of this lying around. I had two and sold them both, should be cheap.

Everything will line up just fine? Won't look aftermarket or anything? And the flairs off the current one will be fine on the new one? In otherwords after the brackets are added it's 100% compatable?

Should be fine, just make sure you get a limited bumper, so the flares work with it.......

I just did mine, but stuck with the 98 on my 98.

I bought mine aftermarket from a auto body suppy store. I had to tweak a few things, but it worked out fine!

Love my Volvo on the front of a 4runner? :wow2:

Sorry I just had to. LOL

not sure if you have a bumper yet, but I will have one available next week since I am getting a new front bumper by CBI :naughty:.
I have a 00. just a thought.

How bad is the damage to the panel next to the headlight? You can buy a new headlight assembly and new bumper and your front should be clean and straight. You still have the green strip under the lamp so that is a good sign.

Its dented in, but no like seams or anything. fixable. My dad and i think it might actually pop back once the pressure is relieved on it. We'll see.
