However, if you use grade 8 bolts to mount it on the rack, I would think you would be ok, even in an accident. I feel like the metal of the rack would bend rather than shear in an accident. But I got a B in materials.

i should have new rubber as of early this week (hopefully i can still cancel my accidental order of some pathetic a/t's and get m/t or else i wont be going far into the muck) so ill start working on a thread and such

as for some mods.. today i painted the rear bumper guard black (it was a worn out grey before).. gave the whole truck a bath and installed the skid plate.. i also sold my bush bar

My next plan is to make a light bar which goes across the roof basket and can lay flush with the basket or be rotated so that the lights are sticking up and useable when offroading/camping

lol i will i was just keeping it till tomorrow for my - now cancelled - wheeling trip. The hi lift.. im still contemplating. if i dont do the rack method ill definitely rig up the bolts for the cargo area like steve and bolt it down there.. im not going to lie - i do like the look of it on the exterior opposed to hidden in the interior.

does anyone know how to remove the outer molding that goes around the license plate on our tailgate?? ill post a pic

Hopefully you can make it! As far as meeting location goes, we can surely discuss it further as we still have another week ahead. When me and my buddy goes, we just meet at Canadian Tire North Van regardless if we decide to head East to Chiliwack or further West to Squamish..He also just lives close in Hastings and Renfrew.

Of course we can always change the rendezvous point as more guys chimes in.

Definitely come.....The exact location is not definite at this point,,,we just thought of goin further up in the Stave Lake region, idk! If you have better places in mind then we can sure set up for that.

Okay so i got around to re mounting my aux lights.. i do like the look without them more.. its cleaner but i use them a lot so it was about time i had them back on.. i have four and have only mounted two.. i plan on mounting the other two on the outside of these ones and slightly further back (towards the engine) to give it a nice rounded off look

i went through the plastic bumper cover then there was a metal bracket underneath i went through.. took a bit of grinding with a dremmel to get right

and the freshly painted trim (bumper and tailgate)

They are hellas 55w, yep you get enough juice ive had them mounted in a million different ways and love the extra light when cruising the highways to whistler at night. I plan on getting duel batteries in the future too so probs upgrade the alternator

Sir,

I like what you've done with your power inverter. I do see that it is a 175 watt max.

I want to know, is it safe to split the power from one a/c outlet into two as you have done?

I would imagine that whatever you plug into one of the outlets, it has to be a total of 175 watts. but if you use both outlets, it has to be split evenly to total 175 watts...right?

^^^One more question. My 'npower inverter'^^^I wanted to know....all I have to do is get power directly from the battery to the positive stud on my inverter and the negative has to go to a ground if I want to hardwire it into my 4runner? Or do I have to put the negative post from the inverter straight to the battery's negative post?
