Thanks! I think the backspacing is 4". As far as I know the Pro Comps are identical. My spare is actually a Pro Comp and the rest are Mickey Thompsons.

Cool. This classic design, Pro Comp / Mickey Thompson, is my current favorite. I like a few others, like FN five stars and whatnot, but the fact that the Pro Comps and MTs look as good as they do without costing a mint, especially if you want a matching spare, really makes them all the more attractive.

I notice in your pictures it looks like you've got led marker lights around the roof rack. If that's so and I'm not just seeing things, do you have any pictures of them turned on at night? Thinking of doing something similar.

So, lots has happened since my last update. I sold my mustang, so that allowed some room for some pretty sweet upgrades.
1st off was the long awaited re-gear and diff locks. I went with 4.88s and ARB air lockers front and rear. It was a pretty big investment, but it made a night and day difference in both on and off road performance. It feels so much happier around town and walks up obstacles I wouldn't have dreamed about with open diffs. Install was kind of a bear, but it was so worth it.

After the Lockers came my drawer/ sleeping platform. I was tired of the back of the truck being fill of junk, so it was time for a better solution. I wanted to house my air compressor and tank out of the way in the front of the box as well as have two full extension drawers to carry my camping and recovery gear, as well as a tool kit. I also needed the ability to turn the back of the truck into a sleeping platform for camping.
After laying everything out, I figured out there was enough room in the front to store side away a spare CV as well as the compressor.

I also finally picked up a full size matching spare that will be rotated in with the rest of the tires, as well as a sweet license plate light from a factory second ten 4runner tire carrier.

A friend and I decided to make the trip up to the North West Overland Rally in Plain Washington for a weekend. We saw some really awesome stuff and I got a great deal on a Ironman 4x4 fridge freezer!

After a long fun summer in Oregon, it was time to head back to school in Kansas.:sobbing: However, it just so happens that Boneville speed week was happening the same time I was driving out to school, so I had to make a pit stop. This is truly an awesome event, and is definitely something every car guy should attend at least once. Even if you aren't into Hot Rods, the Salt Flats are really awesome.

Once I got out to school it was time to do some a job I had been putting off for WAY too long. This truck has been in the family since 2002 when it had 89000 miles. It now has 270,000 miles, and we have never changed the timing belt. Needless to say it was overdue. I bought the kit off of amazon that included the belt, tensioner, water pump, and other bearings and such. It wasn't too bad of a job, but I did have to buy several new tools.

Next was a dual battery setup This was needed to support all the electrical goodies I have added, as well as provide an additional safety measure for when I'm camping in the middle of nowhere. I decided to use the National Luna setup for several reasons. First, unlike many people, I didn't want to run the same deep cycle batteries that most people do, reason being that deep cycles take much much longer to re-charge than standard starting batteries, and are much more expensive. Secondly I liked how the batteries could be linked together at the push of a button for winching or jump starting the main battery with the auxiliary.

Mounting the batteries was a bit of a pain, It involved quite a bit of cutting to get both group 34 batteries in the same space as the stock one. The batteries are within millimeters of touching in several places.

While I was playing with electricity, I added heated front seats for the cold Kansas winters. These have been a great addition to the truck and were fairly cheap.

And lastly I finally bit the bullet on a snorkel. I went back and forth several times on whether I should do the Safari or Hilux unit, but after consulting the opinions of quite a few friends, decided the Hilux one looked better, and you can't beat the price.
Drilling the hole in the fender was not fun at all as the hole saw made a horrible gut wrenching noise as it gnawed a whole in my pride and joy.

Once I got out to school it was time to do some a job I had been putting off for WAY too long. This truck has been in the family since 2002 when it had 89000 miles. It now has 270,000 miles, and we have never changed the timing belt. Needless to say it was overdue. I bought the kit off of amazon that included the belt, tensioner, water pump, and other bearings and such. It wasn't too bad of a job, but I did have to buy several new tools.

Next was a dual battery setup This was needed to support all the electrical goodies I have added, as well as provide an additional safety measure for when I'm camping in the middle of nowhere. I decided to use the National Luna setup for several reasons. First, unlike many people, I didn't want to run the same deep cycle batteries that most people do, reason being that deep cycles take much much longer to re-charge than standard starting batteries, and are much more expensive. Secondly I liked how the batteries could be linked together at the push of a button for winching or jump starting the main battery with the auxiliary.

Mounting the batteries was a bit of a pain, It involved quite a bit of cutting to get both group 34 batteries in the same space as the stock one. The batteries are within millimeters of touching in several places.

While I was playing with electricity, I added heated front seats for the cold Kansas winters. These have been a great addition to the truck and were fairly cheap.

The switches are located right behind the 4wd shifter.

And lastly I finally bit the bullet on a snorkel. I went back and forth several times on whether I should do the Safari or Hilux unit, but after consulting the opinions of quite a few friends, decided the Hilux one looked better, and you can't beat the price.
Drilling the hole in the fender was not fun at all as the hole saw made a horrible gut wrenching noise as it gnawed a whole in my pride and joy.

I actually used some l brackets from a retired bed frame. Haha. I did another one on a friends truck and used some 2"x2" angle iron.
Soon I will be changing up the basket for a modification I will be picking up in Bend Oregon due to a recent Black Friday sale.:naughty:

Hell... You have been busy! I really like your storage solution. That ARB front and back with the re-gear must be sweet! I am intrigued about you mounting your compressor inside. I picked up an ARB twin during a Black Friday sale. I got it with the intention of using it to air up and down, but also to have it run a rear locker down the road. Was it a pain to route your compressor to lockers? How did you go about doing that?
My plan is to wait for a sweet sale to pick up a rear ARB locker to start. 4WheelParts said that they, and/or ARB run sales out at the fairgrounds at their booth come April or so... So, we'll see. I just try to think a few moves ahead and your build and direction has certainly got my attention.

Thanks! the lockers definitely are awesome. They were a but of a challenge to plumb only because I'm using the Viair system thats not designed specifically for air lockers. I had to run a pressure regulator off the tank before the locker solenoids. I think when you use the ARB air compressor it should be a pretty simple install.

Thanks Ripcord! I went with East Coast Gear Supply. I really wanted to go through Nitro Gear and axle up in Washington, but they couldn't do the same deal as ECCS.

I used a T fitting to split the line coming off the tank. It then goes to a pressure regulator and another T-fitting to split between the front and rear solenoids. Then both lines go though the vent in the drivers quarter panel.
