99 t4r bent rear sway bar help...

Do any of you have a pic of your rear sway bar off your t4r that you could post up? I have mine off right now, and am putting new bushings on and rear disconnects. I started looking at my sway bar though, and it doesnt look symetrical. I need to lay it out on a flat table and really check it, but do you guys know if t4r rear sway bars have the same bends mirrored from the center of the diff to the ends?

When I lay mine out I'll take pics of it, but I havent had a chance to do that yet.

Yes, I was thinking that others have removed it too, or swapped on an Addco rear sway bar or something. Mine spends a lot of time on road, so I am ditching the front and making the rear disconnect-able. It looks like yours has some non symetrical bends too, but its tough to tell with the shadow. Thanks for the pic, I'll try to compare it to mine.

Ok, so I snapped a few pics of my rear sway bar, and I didn't realize until now that it is definitely not symetrical from drivers to pass side of the rear axle. It does look similar to GVL's sway bar too.

Does this look bent to you guys?

Sorry bud, I could swear I kept the old ones when I took them off but now I'm starting to think I just ditched them. I was going to measure tip-to-tip and see if it matched yours; If I do find them I'll let you know.

However, if it's bent significantly you will know it - you shouldn't have to struggle too hard to get them to lineup for the links.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend removing both bars for a daily driver because of the increased body roll, but it sure is a heck of a lot of fun a dedicated wheeler.

Once I got my adjustable rear ICON's with remote reservoirs I ditched the rear sway bar all together. Haven't really noticed a difference.

I doubt it is bent. That is solid steel. Our stock swar bars are very beefy, sometimes more so than even aftermarket.

I'm a fan of leaving the sway bars on though. Especially the rear.

I also have mine on with Icon's in the rear. I don't care for freeway speeds with it off.

I did remove my front, however, with no noticable difference. (700lb Icon's up there...)

are they solid on the 3rd Gens? I found my 4th Gen one when I was cutting it up for a disconnecting sway bar project to actually be very thick walled chromoly.

Yeah, I am pretty convinced now that it isn't bent, it just has some funky bends that don't necessarily look "formed" though. If you look at my one pic with the sway bar leaning against the bucket, to the right of center the bar bends down in a strange way. Its probably to clear something on the rear axle, but I won't know until I get it remounted. I guess I was also expecting the sway bar to be symmetrical (mirror image from one side to the next) because every Jeep I have ever worked on has been in the past.
