A 1987/1999 4Runner?!?!?

There was a company that used to make these.

Such a great idea!

Although I think the gauge cluster looks bad in this one, they should have made it cleaner instead of literally sticking a round peg in a square hole.

Really hard to say if I like or not.
Over all, I like the outside but it seems like a really clean 1st gen. So what's not to like. The interior however, does look a little hacked.
Also, under the hood although mechanically seems fine there is just no attention to detail.

Seems to me like an '87 with an engine swap, a few off road tidbits and paint job. However, it doesn't seem completely out of line in price since I have seen clean 1st gens trying to be sold for $5k+ all the time and this one actually has a power house.
So if you like a 1st gen but hat the lack of power (like I do) then this could be a great choice.

What's wrong with the interior? If they were going to use the '99 cluster, they had to use the '99 cowl. Hackage ensues. I don't know how they could have done it better without making custom fiberglass parts.

I think it's great. It's a 1st gen with a supercharged 3.4, coilover IFS, and 3 link rear. It's almost exactly how I'd build one if I were starting a build from scratch right now, except I'd probably use the 1st gen frame and use a Blazeland kit instead of swapping the body onto a 3rd gen frame.

Exactly

The truck is just fine. If the guy were trying to sell it for big money I'd be open to criticize it, otherwise I don't see it as hacked at all. A lot of it is taste, and it isn't my flavor. But it represents a lot of work, and dedication.
Let's leave the hyper-negativity to Pirate4x4!
