A Few Upgrades this month...06 Black SE T4R. Lots of Pics

This guy has been my project vehicle for the past couple years. I just put mounted 4 Hella 500FF's ($130) to my safari rack which I'm very happy with, it took about 4 hours in total to drill, mount, wire, zip, and install 2 switches for the in 2 and out 2 lights. Love the light output, I wanted to put them on for hitting handrails at night in Tahoe (snowboarding) and late nights at the lake this summer.

I bought a back up camera at the electronics store for $40, took about 2 hours with anohter set of hands on the job.

Also, downsized to 6000k HID's. I used to have 10000k's. I really don't know why I kept those in for so long...its literally a nightmare driving at night without your fogs on....here is a pic of the 10000k's

Other than that, we have been getting a bunch of snow in tahoe, today it dumped, and its been great! hopefully the season goes into May!

I also bought 1" Daystar spacers for the front to level out the rake, although I do have Xreas. The hydrolic line has been freaking me out espicially with the though that it would cost $2000 to replace, if anything went wrong. I disconnected the line once before when I tried to do the install about a month ago. Les Shawb and the other places who do lifts around here will not touch a truck with a co-dependant suspension system. :nono:

I have read write-ups about disconnecting the Xreas properly and will tackle it next week, thanks guys for all the helpful info along the way!

Thank you, I looked through my library and this is a cropped and zoomed version of a picture. I cant believe I didn't have any singular wheel pictures. Anyway, the rim isn't too clean in this shot. They are powdercoated flat black.

Looks good! Don't fear the XREAS, not big deal at all. Another member and I just did mine (1" toytec) and it was easy. If you follow the line from the shock, you well find a small bracket (probably 8" or so down the line). Take a bolt out to unhook the bracket. This gives you enough room to pull the shock up on top of the hub/brake assembly. We used that as support for the shock while we did the install. No need to disconnect the lines. We were unsure at first, but once we got in there it all made sense. If you'll click the link in my sig (where it says the lift), it'll take you to my write-up. In there I list several different pages I used that have install instructions (very detailed).

Edit: Also, worth it to instal FJ springs? I may as well do it when I'm down there. Big noticable ride difference?

Down in Roseville I got mine done by a fellow named Jason Haskins, he's pretty well known in the paint industry. He has done a ton of show cars and also does custom paint on drum sets for celebrities and such. He does great work. My rims were $250 and gril was $100, it took a day, I just left it over night and picked it up after work. Let me know if you want his number.

Get one JAC! Love it and the install wasn't too terrible, just left my dash in pieces for a day, but other than that its just running a video input line to the back of your unit then splicing the power to your reverse lights (if thats when you want it to come on). Also, getting the damn thing aimed and mounted at the right spot was an adventure, if you have OCD it might take some tinkering.

I blackhoused them myself, a bunch of people on this forum have done the same thing. It required you to take apart the sealant.

I couldn't find the write-up that I used but it's pretty simple, just a little scary..

I am going to buy the Toytec Ultimate Lift later this year. I am also interested in getting a roof rack similar to yours. Are the lake pictures at Folsom Lake?

Thanks man, ive tried to get black lugs forever, it is literally the only upgrade left as far as color. Just havent found the right pitch and such for anything under 7 bucks pop...do you know of anything? Gorilla makes them for stock wheels?

Nice 'Runner. I like how you have both gloss black and flat black throughout the vehicle. It really ties it all together.

Do you have any more information about that roof rack? Do you have any more pictures of it? How happy are you with it? It looks great, but I am a little scared to order one off the internet without seeing one in person. Do you recommend it? Thanks!
