Alright, I ended up buying (2) of these since I had to order some brake parts and can confirm, it does fit and is almost identical to the original bushing taken out. Mine was fine, but decided to replace it anyways, followed drcoffee's instructions a few pages back and it took 15 mins or so. Lubed it up with some silicone grease I already had and also zip tied the rod just as a safety measure. You could also use an e-clip on the pin where the bushing is installed on, but I didn't have one available.

So annoyed to have paid $25 for this “part.” I’ll count it as a stupid tax for not looking harder for the OEM bushing others found. :doh:

Not sure it was needed, as my OEM bushing was in good shape (and I'll carry it as a spare.) Lots of debris and dried up coffee or cola down there from the PO, so I cleaned that up and now my shifter moves much more smoothly

How to Replace the Gear Shift Bushing (Shift Linkage) on a 2004 Toyota 4Runner! - YouTube
No need to tear the shifter assembly apart. A couple of trim pieces and pop out the whole center console. That may sound harder but it gives you a chance to clean out the dirt and random crap that's ended up under there anyway. Basically you just shift the lever as far back as it goes (1st gear) and the area you need to access is poking out the rear the enclosure. Pop out the big C-clip holding the cable in place, pop in the bushing and reinstall. Easy peasy.
Did the 2ziptie thing for a couple days waiting on the $30 bushing (yes, it's a ripoff) to show up. I had to do the same thing on my Ex's sienna van a few years ago.
2006 @ 215K. These engineers must be incredible at creating something that last's almost exactly the same across different users.

Can confirm the 33835-08010 bushing works on a 2003 Sport V8. I went thru at least 5 bushingfix bearings at $25 a piece before installing the $3 33835-08010 bushing.

Did you install the little clip, too? I bought the bushing, haven't installed it yet, then later saw photos of it being sold with a clip and now my OCD's getting the better of me.

I bought that Toyota bushing to fix mine, I haven't installed it yet either, I did the Ziptie and it works fine for now, not sure when if ever I will install the bushing, but the bushing I bought from my local Toyota dealer didn't come with the E clip, I did however buy an aftermarket E clip for when or if I ever install the bushing, I'm not even sure if there's a groove for the E clip to be installed into.

I never got nor used a clip, seems to be working good so far. Feels smoother shifting, the other one was like you could feel that softer crap rubber. Has only been a month though.
