A Funny Thing Happened To Me On My Way Home Last Night

So, i was on my way home last night from my boys house when i had the urge for a slurpie. SO, i pull up and what do i see there. A new H3. First of all, man is that thing efing ugly. Second, the kid who owned it, ( is say kid, b/c no self respecting adult would have his colar up, and his hat tilted to the side). He was clocking my rig hard so i said, "ahh the new h3", what do you think. Bad idea. He was like," dude this thing is a rocket for its size bla bla bla". So, obviously i started to school the kid on some stuff about his rig, then he said, "so, shall we, and i said," totally.

So, we went to a deserted part of the near by town, on a 2 mile or so strech of nicely paved roads. And lined up

Then, all of a sudden the light changed, and we went for it.

Man what a p.o.s that thing is. Not only did i burry it at the start, but i was a good 3 or so car lengths ahead of him at the next light. He pulled up to me and asked how many horses my v8 had. He was less than satisfied to find out that i had a v6, just like him.

So, the moral of the story is, don't get an H3 cuz it is a p.o.s and will get dogged by anthing with 4 wheels.

Hope you enjoyed the story.

I just looked at the specs of the H3 (Glad to say I know nothing about this "truck") and it has a measely 220HP and 225lb torque and weights a couple hundred pounds more compared to our trucks. This was easily no contest from the drawing board. You should feel bad that you took total advantage of that goober.

also, by the way you described what happened it reminds me of that cell phone commercial with the posers pay $10 a minute for a phone call.

There has NEVER been a quality I5 engine....

Goes to show that chevy cant seem to get their head out of their arse.... That thing is nothing more than a re-bodied Chevy Colorado truck.

Drew, why did you even waste the gas? Those Hummer's don't have any acceleration. Anyway, that was a great story. Only these things can happen to you! :D

I guess we can't bash you anymore for having the V6! ;):

the h3 is probably some gm frankenstein made up of parts of other gm parts garbage bin.

he probably brought a yukon-trailblazer-envoy- escalade-blah, blah, blah...

get your "employee" discount now! sorry to bash america made gm, but they deserve it after a decade of sitting on their hands and getting rich on the farm.

take the oldsmobile brand. who in the world would buy this crapola? it doesn't even appeal to senior citizens! why remind yourself that u r old?

gm needs new blood and I don't mean start a design group out in california.

that is so true! my dad wanted me to buy a dark green buick sedan. it was so ugly!
i told him, "dad, i am 18 not 80!!!!"

lol, this kid was def a goober. I guess I just wanted to show this retard what a real truck can do. Mind you, we didn't go offloading, but I hope I can against this kid.

He just wanted to be a big shot with his boys in the car.

Man, you just should have seen the look on this kids face. He was just totally shocked that I was pushin' a v6.

But, to be honest, I can't understand how Hummer in general can put out such a p.o.s . I mean, the original hummer is a true bruiser, the H2 is a p.o.s. and h3 is a total embarrassment.

I can't believe that I am saying this, but if it came down to it, I would take a GC over an H3, any day of the week

KUDOS TO TOYOTA FOR MAKING A GREAT WHIP

the h1 was made for the military probably with some federal funding. the h2 and h3 is for want-to-be-in-the military types.

question? h1 is the real deal, but how would you get in and get out at the mall? :-)

As a current GM vehicle owner who's switching to a Toyota 4Runner I've thought alot about GM in general and the H3 in particular.

The H3 will be a decent vehicle in OFFROAD use. Even if the engine is a world class wimp in most regards the gearing should allow some decent torque in offroad driving.

It is that same engine that will, IMHO keep the H3 from being considered by many. If this was the wild, wild west it would do okay. Unfortunetly, these vehicles will be driven ONROAD far more than off and under those conditions the H3 is a DOG. :(

The engine is the same I5 (inline 5 cylinder) that is in the Colorado pickup. In fact the H3 is based on the same platform as the Colorado. There are several reviews that state the I5 struggles in the Colorado pickup; and the H3 is 900 lbs heavier!

Car & Driver just came out with a review of the H3 and said it took 22.3 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph while towing a 3,500lb load (the max towing for the H3 is only 4,000lbs.). :rolleye2:

I've posted more than a few comments on the GM Inside News forums about this. They always reply saying the H3 isn't a sports car. I tell them that it's poor I5 engine has less power than any other V6 and yet still doesn't get better gas mileage, (15/19).

I'm afraid the H3 will be DOA when it starts arriving in GM dealerships soon. :bash:

yes, the same music goes on and on at gm....same old song, same old dance.

one new model driving off the cliff as the next one arrives at the edge.

who's in charge there? nobody it seems.

money can't buy everything! happiness, good taste, good judgement, etc...

gm employees are just eating up the blueberry pie on the expense of patriotic loyal gm owners.

I hope nobody here actually takes pleasure in the fact that American cars fall short of Asian car makers. It is actually somewhat depressing to me. I'll continue to buy Toyota and Honda in the near future because my money is important to me but I really hope by the time I have kids and they are of driving age that American cars will be on par with those from Japan.

NEver underestimate the IQ of the buying public.

Yes, the H2 is a POS....but GM was selling them like hotcakes to every poseur with a bad toupee and pre-menapausal soccer mom with $60k buring in his/her wallet. So what has quality have to do with it. It looked cool and kids were not emabrassed when Mom drove up to drop them off/pick them up.

Rich fluck kids were begging Daddy to spring them one for turning 16 and gfetting their driver's license. All black with those ghetto-ized bling bling 22 inch dubs and ghetto blaster stereo sets. Just look at Lebron James.......first thing he got after getting his NBA was getting his H2. Look at CSI....they drive H2......what product placement.

So the H3 is an even worse POS. Do you think teeny bopper snot nosed brats care? They'll just trick it out with 22" dubs, trashcan size tailpipes, and ghetto blaster stereos. Enema, I mean Eminem ,sounds the same blasting out of a H3 as it would out of a H1. Do you think 16 year old bimbos care about quality or speed or towing or engine design? ALl they want is something to cruise around teh malls with their Britney 'Ho girlfriends, and suburban parents just look at the price tag and think...oh, that's not bad......

Never understaimate the IQ of buyers. You never know, some could have served as jurors on the Michael Jackson trial.

grunner3, there is no pleasure knocking GM. history does not lie. look at the facts and it hurts. patriotism is NOT for sale, and don't wrap the cars on the lot with American flags and don't go flying the biggest badest american flag on the dealer flagpole. Love your country and not your dealer!

saab's a good acquisition. let's hope they don't mess up saab.

have you ever seen housewives driving yukons on the road and said to yourself, "what the hell is that?" it's all about me me me, to hell with the environment.

Sometimes, ages has its benefits....

Don't know if you're old enough to pull it off, but if it were me and this snotnosed brat came rolling along....

I'd make some snotty condescending remark back handed complimented like...."That looks like a nice TOY for a young BOY. How much did your Daddy pay for it?"

Then I'd just mosey on off.... hanging my left arm out the window and my stainless Rolex glistening in the sun.....ahhhh, Norah Jones on the CD.....

old age and treachery beats youth and bravado anytime...

LOL. Nora Jones knockin' out of the 12' sub in the trunk with a slurpee in my hand, now that is an efing picture.

In retrospect, you guys have def given me some good shit to say, but I guess I let the rig do most of the talking.

To be honest, I don't think I would have messed with him if his efing hat was straight, and his collar wasn't up. Not many things in this word piss me off like that combination of things

efing Ashton kutcher wannabees. ef em' all.

Collar up? Hey hey hey.....I resemble that remark.....back in my college days, that was de rigeur....Ralph Lauren polo shirt/La Coste with collar up, tails hanging out, madras shorts, Topsiders with no socks, sweater wrapped around the neck tied just perfectly so the overhand loop lays perfectly flat on the sternum.....Raybans or Varnets or "Phon-Nays" on top of the head or on the leash dangling around the neck......and my sweaters were Ralph Lauren or Abercrombie and Fitch--before it went to crap with the snot-nosed crowd.......no hats or caps though.....

even now I occassionally succumb to those affectations of pho-Nay preppiness....bass loafers without socks, polos with the collar up, Raybans,

driving down Pacific Coast highway...warm summer breeze...Sinatra on the CD.....A summer wind, came-a blowing in'...from across the sea.....it linger there, and touched your hair....

Effin' yuppies......

Who the hell is Ashton Kutcher? Now I'm really dating myself....
