a little bit of wiring help please

hi i own a 89 4runner with the 3L 2.8 diesel and my alternator is dead i have been looking everywhere but cant seem to find one with the vacuum pump on the rear and the external regulator i have a alternator out of a surf with the pump on the front and the internal regulator can someone help with the wiring i would like to get rid of my old external reg and run the newer style alternator i know it can be done but what wire goes where and where do i re route the wires from the old external regulator any help would be great

Are the connectors on the alts the same?
