A Quick Before and After....

I should've known after purchasing my second 3rd Generation 4Runner and joining this board...I wouldn't be able to resist adding a few things to it! She started off pretty much stock except the window visors and bug deflector. Then I grew tired of wiping down the back of my slacks every morning when I got to work. The running boards had to go!! Huge improvement by just removing them. Before I knew it...I started looking at other member's rigs and wanting to do something with mine. My wheels and tires were beat so I started looking for replacements. I found a set of Tundra(before I thought they were Sequoia's) wheels with 285BFG's mounted on them. The tires were in great condition, but I couldn't put them on the Runner w/o a lift. I thought about selling the tires but didn't want to hassle with unmounting and then buying another set to mount. Then the tires would have to sit in my garage until I could sell them. Finally I gave in...when have I bought any vehicle and kept it stock? Never. Anyway, found an excellent deal on a 3" RevTek Lift w/Diff. Drop (Thanks Tom! aka 99Grunner). From there...I just started adding more stuff. I'm really pleased with it. When I had my first one...I kept it stock. Didn't realize what I was missing out on! Thanks to all the contributing members on this board!

Still have a long way to go, but I'm enjoying this winter project! :reddance:

Great lookin rig! Just wanted to ask if that wheel and tire combo fit without using spacers? Any rubbing

No spacers and no rubbing. I was holding my breath when I swapped out the wheels and drove it for the first time. I think the tread design on the AT's helped. If I had aggressive mud tread I think there may have been some rubbing.

Your rig was the first one I saw with the Sequoia/Tundra wheels. I was sold after that!

Definitely!!! I just wish I could find the door flares so I can complete the set. I have a passenger side on the way, but I'm still one short. Just don't want to go to the dealer for it.

Do you have a hard time with the white rusting out quickly or getting any orange spotting?

Fortunately, I've only seen two pinhead size orange spots. One on the back near the rear bumper and another on the corner of the hood. The rest is pretty clean of any rust on the body. I only saw the two spots because I was waxing and detailing it. Figured I'd better keep as much protectant on it as possible. Especially after all the snow we've gotten. I'll have to figure something out for the two spots though. I was a little nervous when taking the running boards off. I thought I'd have a ton of rust underneath. Luckily, I didn't.
 
Definelty a bit of a transformation and I prefer those flares vs the widebody Limited flares mostly because they deal with trail brush/small trees than the painted version,same goes for the front lower valence.

Yea I know what you mean. I've been wanting to take my boards off since last summer but when I did, there was so much rust under there I almost cried.

I'm looking into getting it fixed though this year, hopefully. We've had such a bad winter here and its added so many orange spots to the body..I hate it.
 
Figured I'd update this since FINALLY finding my two door flares and adding the Rola Rack. Really enjoying the 4runner and modding it. So happy to be back in one again 10 years later!

yeah, I love the side flares like that! But I did get rid of my valance... and removing the bumpstop behind it will give you more entrance angle.

Great looking wheel tire combo!! I love those Tundra wheels and the Tires!
Ive seen good looking tires and good looking wheels, but some dont go together great... yours are a match made in heaven!

Thanks!! My Runner has come a loooooooong way since buying it back in January. After looking at so many great looking rigs on this site I was torn on which wheels to get. Glad I decided on the Tundra's. I appreciate the feedback!
