Abient Lighting from rearview mirror?

OK All,

Is it possible to wire in a small LED to the back of the rear view mirror to create soft ambient lighting? I already have my V1 hardwired to it.

If this can be done? HOW???

I'm not sure if the rear view mirror would be the best place for it. You would have to take it apart to see. I would think you can (if you have the optional electrochromatic mirrors, b/c they are chuncky). I would look into putting the LED in the overhead console. That's where the ambient LED is usually located on other cars/suvs. I want to mount one LED in the footwells, haven't gotten around to it yet.

I wouldn't put them in the mirrors, I would look into doing the lexus overhead console swap, or just drilling some LED's into the overhead console

Lexus console swap is cool, but expensive, even on ebay. Drilling some LED would be best bet.

Would love to know what type of LED (yellow of course...... voltage/type) to install.
