so im in the process of getting my first 4runner and i decided why not join the forums. the car is being shipped from CA to CO but i have already done the approval process so if i like the car its all mine. Its a 2006 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4D Sport Utility. Here are some pics of it on the lot...

so i did alot of research on theses and i thought the sport came with the step bar running boards and vented hood standard? :wtf: if so i wonder if i can talk them down a couple hundred bucks?:shrug:

It looks like you have the SR5 model which is the base level of the three 2006 models, SR5, Sport and then Limited. The Sport model comes with the hood scoop and I believe tubular roof rack. Your setup looks like my 06, SR5. No scoop and running boards.

SR5 is a great truck, but don't pay Sport price for SR5 features.

So i finally got it about a week ago and as of right now i love it. My only question is working the automatic light when a door is open. The back lights come on but do the front lights not have that feature? other then that i kinda wish i had wheel control for the radio but ill get over since none of my other vehicles have them.

I have a couple mods i wanna do but nothing over the top.
1. 3k Fogs and 6k or 8k lows
2. Tint my front windows since the rest are already done.
3. Tubular Running boards
4. Indash and stealthbox sub
5. Led Dome lights and Footwells
6. Remote start
7. CAI
8. and if i can find them cheap (tubular roof rack and sport edition hood)

So im finally ready to do something to the 4runner and the first thing is going to be HIDs...I didn't see alot of info on it so ill just ask here. I plan on buying DDM HIDs and i was having a hard time deciding if i needed the 35w or 55w kit. I dont know much about the projectors on the 4runners so i wanted to make sure if the higher wattage is necessary. and if ill have and melting issues for the lows and fogs if i decide to get 55w. I plan on going with 8k lows and 3k fogs. thanks in advance
