About to buy my first 4Runner

So I wanted to get some advice. I am looking at a used 2012 4runner sr5 with 28k miles. They are asking $29,000 and its a toyota certified vehicle with 7yr/100k power train warranty.

I just wanted to get advice on whats a fair price, and also to check in and see how comfortable the drivers seat is for everyone. I have had several surgeries on my back and comfort is my main concern. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to test drive test drive test drive. Opinions will not help here as everybody's butt, back and proportion is totally different and comfort is subjective.

Suggest you'll want the (PT) Premium Package, for best seating comfort/adjustability. Contains, among other options, leather/heated/8-way adjustable seats,

Seems like a decent price if it's a loaded SR5. As others have said, test it out for yourself! I find the 4Runner to have some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. I do have the Leather full power seats.

That's a crazy price on a 3 year old car. I just got my brand new 2014 Trail for 32,900 plus tax tag title. I had another deal in my back pocket for an SR5 4x4 for 31,900 plus tax tag title.

All good comments so far, [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION] post about test drive (extended or over night not just 10miles). Also I think the asking price is high, as others have mentioned you can get a new for not much more. 4runners seem to hold value amazing well, great for owners but for buyers you should hold out/push for a good deal or maybe wait a bit longer and buy new. All that being said while my stock 4runner was of good comfort for a BOF, medium wheelbased truck it is not and never will match the comfort most CUVs or full size cars on the road today. If your priority is comfort over utilty I would not suggest a 4runner. Best of luck in your search and negotiations.

This is a prime example of 4runners andtheir resale.... At that price, why wouldnt you just buy new?

I'm assuming it has to be 4x4 at that price.

Don't fall for the Toyota certified BS. In my experience, that just means 2-5k over market value. Some of the most abused and hurt trucks I looked at in my search were Toyota certified. I feel it is just a license for dealers to make more profit. They probably have 20k in it.

This is obviously just my cynical opinion. Some dealers may actually take it seriously. I guess the extended warranty is real.
