About to order parts to do valve cover gaskets, are OEM parts necessary?

Just a moment...
Pretty cheap and definitely authentic Toyota parts.

That being said....
I personally bought a Timing Belt Kit from Amazon that included various OEM manufacturer's parts and all made in Japan .
Valve Cover Kit from ebay with OEM Japanese made components.
And plan to use aftermarket Valve Covers.
We will see how it shakes out.

How did you manage to break your valve covers?

The bolts are easy to over-torque if you aren't paying attention. The 'ears' they go through are unsupported and can break off.
