About to wrench.

Alright guys, looking to install a lift on my 3rd gen this week. The stock suspension is almost shot and tires are about done too. I've compiled a set of OME 881's with top spacers for the front and was trying to hold out for 7 wraps in the rear but came across some 8 wraps for cheap. I know this will give me a little bit of a rake but always have a rather full cargo area for work. I do plan on eventually finding 7 wraps or biting the bullet on some 890's. Can anyone give me a good idea or photos of what to expect with 881's and 8 wraps? Just wanting reference so I can decide before hand if I'm going to leave the cone bump stop in or not. Unless the height and ride work for me this is only a temp fix, but as I said the current suspension won't hold out much longer. I also got a great deal on a set of BFG T/A KO's in 265/75/16 to throw on as well. The previous owner had bought them just before the KO 2's came out and let a set of 5 go for 300 with 80% tread left.

Thanks! I actually saw this thread about a week ago when I was deciding whether to jump on the 8 wraps or not, but couldn't find it again even after searching. I'll definitely check out your signature on better searches. They can definitely be frustrating, especially anything having to do with suspension/ lifts as there's probably thousands of them on here.

The issue most people run into is they try to use the "Forum Search" from the drop down menu.

That is using the website's built in search. The bar that I highlighted uses Google and the link in my signature is how to do an advanced Google search.

The LIMITATION of using the "Forum drop down menu search" instead of either Google based search is that the forum's website search does not process searches with less than 4 characters. 'TRD' or '881' or 'ABS' etc none of those work at all or very well unless you use a Google method.

Makes sense, well after reading the write up again, looks like I may be pleasantly surprised with combination somewhere between both of the setups mentioned. I definitely plan on taking photos as I go through with this and may even add to insight. Thanks again.

If you got a good deal on the 8 wraps, I think it's a win either way because if you end up not liking the set up, the 8 wraps won't be hard to sell or trade. I actually like the rake the 8 wraps give & the added rake will decrease the chances of the back end sitting lower then the front depending on how much weight is added. I don't have any experience with the 8 wraps but haven't really heard anything negative about them as far as the ride, aside from being a little on the softer side if there is a lot of weight in the back. If you already have the cone bump stops, might as well put them in. I kept mine in on my 890's since I already had them & would be one less spare part taking up space.
