I would measure your sway bar and or I think the OEM bushings say what size they are. There are instances where you need 26mm. Either way I ended up ordering both 27mm and 26mm kits. One of the kits worked for the end links and the other kits sway bar ones worked. I dont know why this is the case on some 4runners. Kits are cheap so it wasnt that big of a deal I guess.
 
I know I'm kind of reviving this thread but got a question on the Daily Driver/Weekend Warrior - Trail Bias build. I am doing this build to my 99, 3.4 auto, 4x4 with 265/70/16 and was wondering if it would be beneficial to re-gear? Thinking of 4.10. Not sure what I have. No locker.
She's my only vehicle/DD and I'm in Denver, CO and spend most weekends in the mountains whether snowboarding, off-roading, camping or road trips through the mountains. Various expeditions are being planned but I am not looking to lift or add bumpers. May add rock sliders, a refrigerator and a roof rack to possibly put my spare on top. Will re-gearing give me any more power or at least the feel of more power on and off road?

You have 4.10s currently. Unless you add a lift and larger tires, i wouldn't worry about regearing

Does that change anything?

I love Washington. I frickin love it here. There are maybe a couple other places I might enjoy more, but to uproot from my family and work it wouldn't be worth it to me. Plenty of places to go offroad and explore, with endless beauty. Washington has everything to offer as far as my hobbies go, fishing, hunting, camping, offroading, hiking, etc. And the weather isn't as bad as everyone says!

Denver sure is nice though!

Yea man, Denver is great but I miss the PNW. Moved here from Queen Anne and starting to put feelers out for work in Seattle. My girl and I both love to fish, hike, camp, off road and snowboard and I love the PNW weather.
I'll keep you posted. Would be nice to link up with someone with similar interests.
 
What a great post! The recipes will help a ton of folks, I'm sure.
I feel a little better about what I've done and plan to do after reading this. Appartently, I've unkowingly been following the DD/WW- Trail Bias Recipe!!! Woohoo!!
 
Does anyone have an idea of the costs involved for these builds, particularly the "Budget OEM Refresh" and "Daily Driver/Weekend Warrior Pavement Bias" for a 2wd truck?
 
I love how this thread has different build names as if absalom is selling them like packages out of his trunk.

Too many variables to answer you without more details.

Example... oem inner tie rod ends are way way more expensive than aftermarket.... but outers are not.

Just divide by 2, correct? (sorry couldnt resist)

I can't imagine its much cheaper just because it's 2wd. For example (I know its the truck version): the toyota tacoma pre-runner and the 4wd tacoma are virtually identical concerning the front suspension setup.
