AC Compressor belt adjuster bolt broke in place

Ran into this problem while installing the supercharger. The adjuster assembly was pretty rusted when taking off the belts and in the process of loosening the bolt began to fracture. I left it alone but had to cut the AC belt to continue with the install.

So right now the belt is off and the bolt is lodged in place. There doesn't seem to be a way to change that part out without removing the compressor. Would it help if i could dremel the bolt out? I'm guessing the assembly the bolt goes through is trashed as well. Any help would be great - thanks!

Regardless, if the head is broken off, I have used screw extractors with much success:

An air hammer and a pointer bit can work as well, just not as fast.

If you have access to oxy/ace, it should take about 30 seconds....

Screw extractors definitely FTW. Unless you are using them on some type of hardened fastener they usually work pretty well.

Do you have the ones from you link? How do you like them? I've only used the cheaper big box store ones but have broken them before which could be a huge PITA. The ones you posted look great for the price, I like the hex/socket drives.

Guess I'm buying this... I guess I could drill it out but I think that extracting it would be easier. Wondering what the part number is though for the new bolt. 12mm.

Yeah that's what I ended up buying too. After searching and googling.

For anyone wondering, the alternator tensioner bolt has the same dimensions as the A/C tensioner bolt, which is what I was confused about and looking for clarification on.

Freaking rust belt man. My alternator wouldn't even slide down the bracket after the bolt head broke off. Now that's ridiculous. And the bolt broke after I put deep creep on it overnight and before trying to losen it. Ended up having to undo the bolt holding the alternator bracket. Still waiting on the bolt extractor to be delivered to remove the broken AC bolt. I have what I need to drill it and retap it but I rather use the extractor it seems like it would be easier but I might be wrong we'll see.
