I am assuming you have an LE. If thats the case, let the system do its job. If you were to turn the A/C off, it will then get hotter than your set temperature of 72. In other words, it has to be on inorder to regulate the hot & cold air to keep it at the desired temperature, in your case, 72.

Usually, the Toyota HVAC systems automatically turn on the A/C compressor when the auto button is pushed. You could have it reprogrammed by the dealer!

I've heard it has something to do with removing humidity. Don't know if that is true or not.

thank you , i just noticed that the light goes off after awhile i'm assuming after the cabin reaches the set temperature.
