Acknowledging other 4runners

I looked at his GoodYear MT/Rs and it was 245/75R16, is that the stock size they come with?

yup, that's the stock tire and size. 245/75/16...with Load Range E. It's a heavy duty tire, commonly seen in dualies (ya know those HD trucks with twin tires on each side in the rear).

Today, I look through my mirror and I see an 04 Sport behind me. I give a friendly wave out of the sunroof and I get wave back. I then give it a closer look and it was my friend in his 4Runner. That was so cool! :jester:

I always thought about doing this, especially after seeing how my friend acknowledges other NSXs on the road. The trouble is, all I see down here in San Diego are family man/woman types who would think I'm just some clown. :jester:

The problem is that when you buy a Corvette, Harley, Jeep Wrangler and those types of vehicles they are bought by enthusiest and have a whole auror about them. The reasons to buy and the buyer demographics of 4Runners are completely different from those type's of vehicles.

I've had Jeeps and it works but I don't think anyone will know what the heck I'm doing waving at them just cause I'm in a 4Runner

Please dont think this is a flame, however, isnt the fact that this forum(and many others like it) are so popular is because people are "enthusiasts". I mean, how many ahh I dont know, ford tempo forums or nissan ahh.... trucks forums are there?

I am more of an enthusiast with my 4runner than most HEEP owners I know.

Heck, I think I probably spend more money on my 4runner than on my kids:D

any way i dont look at my truck as just a 4runner

I like to think of myself as a 4runner fanatic. If I see a 4runner stalled on the road I am all about stopping to lend a hand. This morning I passed by a Ford Mustang but just drove by. Its a 4runner Thing, you just wont understand.

a ford mustang broken down?
no i dont believe it-no way thats impossible, i mean i mean its a ford and they're built ford tough...
aren't they?

Basically what I was saying is that the percentage of non-enthusiests buying those vehicles is low. Where as with the 4Runner the percentage would be middling at best. I'm an enthusiest, most aren't.

dont know if it will help but ive got 265/75/R16 with no lift and i have plenty of clearance..... even with a ton of butt sag

that means its built like a rock, and we know how good rocks roll on a road. :)

I agree that we should be friendlier and wave to all Hooked up 4runner folks out there.

If they wave back then cool, if not then no biggie.

I know that I have a semi hooked up Integra, and fellow Hooked up Teggy drivers will usually give eachother a lil rev of the engine or a simple hand wave.

Although the rev of the engine can usually lead to some fast driving....

Just like the comercials said; "Ford builds one tough truck".

I just have never met the lucky SOB who got it........... :D

Well, now that I've ruined it, would you kindly edit your post, too, so that I don't ruin it for everyone else....

I wave but they don't wave back, so I honk and they give me the finger. WTF? OK, so I speed up and when they hear my Pimp Wagon's engine roar they're like hmmmm.... And when I finally pass em. They say, "WOW! , That Dude Got Balls!"
