Hey Scotty, I'm guessing we're going to want to use fresh hardware to mount these bumpers. Do you (or anyone) happen to have a list of bolt sizes/specs so we can pick them up before hand?

The winch is very easily installed once the bumper is already on the truck. Makes the bumper much easier to install also being that much lighter!

I was originally going to paint it my self i had pretty good success doing that with my skid plates but getting a deal on a powder coating so can't pass it up !

Awesome that's great to know, just one more reason why i love these bumpers the winch is very easily accessible if need be! Only reason i asked is because i know on some bumpers like the demello for example the winch has to be installed at the same time as the bumper..

I've found this method to be EXTREMELY durable. The reason I use bed liner between primer and paint is that it sticks to surfaces very well while also adding resilience and avoiding flaking or chipping from road debris - even with paint over it.

Do you think an enamel clear coat over bedliner would serve the same purpose? I'm leaning towards Rustoleum bedliner but I have 2 concerns:

1. Bedliner looks great when new but really crappy when it fades.

2. Our trails are very dusty 8 months a year and I drive them every weekend. I like to be able to wipe the rig off with a towel in between washes but I don't think that works real well with bedliner. The San B mountains are in the 3rd year of a bad drought so I suppose washing constantly isn't very "Eco" of me.

Would a clear coat help out with keeping BL a little cleaner?

I honestly don't know the answer to the clear coat part of your question. I would guess yes unless the sun fades the bed liner (even if the clear coat resists UV yellowing).

What I do know is this: Duplicolor makes two bed liner products in spray cans - you want the black top / blue can product. It has minimal texture compared to he other Duplicolor option and is much better quality than Rustoleum and others that I have experimented with.

Since it has less texture, it's not as "grabby" to road dirt like others. When applying, you may get heavy drops here or there (especially at the end of the can). They can easily be knocked flat by gently touching with your fingertip when wet.

My last bumper was rattle canned with satin black despite already being black from the bed liner. It provided a better finish look which further minimized the texture of the liner and was easy to keep clean with a quick hose down. I never tried dusting off dirt dry though.

Yes, please do. I really don't want a super rough finish so like the sound of the texture you described and would like to see your rig with the new hardware as well.
