Addicted OR rear tube bumper and spare tire mounted

For those that have and Addicted rear bumper on how large of a spare have you been able to fit underneath? Is there more or less room with the bumper vs. the receiver mounted down there?

Love the price, weight and simplicity of this bumper but if I can't put a spare underneath it may not be an option. Putting the spare on the roof is out of the question and having to keep it full time in the cargo area seems like a pain.

My buddy has this bumper. You can fit the stock tire size up too 32" inch at most just like with the stock bumper. Only issue is when you get a high rize bumper the rear tire just sticks out. Looks real funny. Especially if running body lift because then the tire is even lower and also just bounces around because the tire can touch the body anymore to keep it in place.

So pretty much it looks really weird with tire in stock position and the AOR rear tube. Plate bumpers sometimes look better because they hang lower on the sides but that defeats the purpose of a well build bumper that dont get hung up on rocks when coming off of them.

Not overly concerned about looks but I know what you mean about hanging low. I have 265/75 under there now and seems to have a few inches to spare on the sides, but I am starting to think it is unlikely to get a 255/85 up there.

If you research many people have tried to fit 33's an no luck. I dont think you will have much luck with anything over the 265/75.

Its not just looks thats an issue. It will hang low and be what hits and drags when offroading. You are trying to get more clearance out back when going with the tube bumper. The rear tire in stock location kind of defeats the bumpers functionality purposes. And since your not doing it for looks and more functionality you dont want that tire dangling back there.

Im in your same boat. I went with AOR front plate bumper and want the rear but I like the clean look of no tire swing out plus its so much cheaper. I also dont want it on the roof or in cab either. Im thinking Im going to get stuck putting it in the cab but you always smell rubber and takes up a lot of space. But that space can be made up with roof rack.

sonoran steel makes a under the truck tire carrier that fits 33"+ tires with the stock bumper. Not sure exactly how it works with aftermarket bumpers but this tire carrier is your best bet, I'm sure much better than the stock under carrier.

Another under the truck carrier, this is a BFG AT 285/75/16 on a 16x8 stock FZJ80 wheel. Late 80's chain driven tire winch. We did this one in May, the customer drove all the way from Lompoc, CA on the way to Baja!

I plan on putting mine in the rear cargo area with a deck built over it to retain storage space (minus the height). It will be designed for easy removal with ability to lash it to the roof rack temporarily if need be.

I have a couple of concepts in my head and will post pics when I actually complete it.

There is plenty of room side to side between the frame rails (although it does get a little tight with the exhaust). The real space constraint is front to back. My bumper mounts under and outside the frame rails.
